Manny, no offense, but your listening habits are caged.

How do you like this--which is a mere a taste of non-pop/rock dreck. Close your eyes.

Try Mahmoud Ahmed's Erè Mèla Mèla...you will forget about Sigur Ros. Hopefully, you will forget about every band on your list. Yes, this music is that good. I know everything you listed, and it's doesn't have the passion this stuff does. Get some Fela Kuti and Nusrat Fetah Ali Kahn too, then dig from there.

Strange you didn't mention Toumani Diabate: http://www.myspace.com/toumanidiabate

or the undisputed king of African music:
    Ali Farka Toure: http://www.myspace.com/alifarkatoureofficial

Both are from Mali. Toure recently died, but Diabate is his protege.

I do like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan as well.

To be fair, I'm I've become a huge fan of this band recently. I'm not quite sure if this song came out this year though. I'm sure Manny might know, although the steroids might change his opinion...

Oh, and BTW, F*** U2!!!! AC/DC did the public thing a decade before.
