Strange you didn't mention Toumani Diabate: http://www.myspace.com/toumanidiabate or the undisputed king of African music: Ali Farka Toure: http://www.myspace.com/alifarkatoureofficial Both are from Mali. Toure recently died, but Diabate is his protege. I do like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan as well.
