I would love to see them but it looks like Atlanta is the closest they will ever be to me since I live in middle TN. I could only imagine what it was like to see them in person - surreal comes to mind.

    mikol,

What is your favorite Beefheart album or albums? I have totally gotten into the Captain which has also led to getting into Ornette Coleman (a HUGE influence on Beefheart) and Pere Ubu - unbelievable band that sounds like no one; the closest comparison point is, you guessed it, Beefheart and the Magic Band.

Interesting trivia fact: Eric Feldman, keyboardist, who has played with many artists over the years including the Pixies and Frank Black played in the latter era Beefheart Magic Band (appearing on the albums Shiny Beast, Doc at the Radar Station, and Ice Cream for Crow) as well as Pere Ubu, replacing original keyboard player Allan Ravenstine.

Not really against burning but there are some artists that I really like to have the hard copy of the album. I plan on getting pretty much all of those but would love to have a copy of Grow Fins and I'm Going to Do What I Want as well as London 1974. You can email me at manny_ramirez73@yahoo.com if you like.

I definitely like hard copies on bands I like most, but it's hard to get everything when there is so much out there. I will hook you up with whatever no problem

A somewhat old thread revived by yours truly as I am listening to the Sun City Girls. Over the last year, I have gotten into artists such as the following:

    Captain Beefheart
    Pere Ubu
    Sun Ra
    The Residents
    John Zorn
    Animal Collective
    Henry Cow
    Scott Walker

And the Sun City Girls might be weirder and more experimental than all the rest of them COMBINED!!
