WEEKEND 2 WAS AWESOME! First Coachella experience, definitely doing it again. Won a VIP pass from the Samsung Galaxy booth! Loved Outkast, Nas, Pharrell, Disclosure, Fatboy Slim, Ellie Goulding, and HAIM. Kid Cudi was a disappointment. Jhono Aiko was a pleasant surprise. That is all
Wow, you thought Kid Cudi was a disappointment? I loved his set, it was my second favorite after CHVRCHES. I think his new albums is one of the best in years, and he played a lot of that, if you like old-school Cudi I guess you could have been disappointed. Really dug him bringing out Haim and MGMT, and the words he had to say to the crowd were pretty awesome IMHO. Arcade Fire's sike-out with Daft Punk was also amazing. I effing loved it as usually... already planning for next year. I should also note that I've apparently become too old for the Sahara tent. Eff everything about that place now.
I heard something about locals being able to get cheapers passes with better access? We actually know quite a few people who live close to there, but they would never think of going.
Yes, locals basically get guaranteed tickets, see this link - http://www.coachella.com/residents/ In the past, the city of Indio has head raffles and things of that nature for residents but for the most part they pay full price but can get two tickets per resident extremely easily. This, if they live in Indio they probably don't need discounts
I made the trip from north of LA to Phoenix every year from 96 to 05. Always thought Indio was just a desolate ****hole in the midst of a vast wasteland.
I still listen to his new stuff but am a bigger fan his older stuff. He kept it real for sure. That was such an LOL moment when Arcade Fire did that...would have been epic if true. Caught the end of the CHVRCHES set and liked it. Everything about the experience was great. Can't imagine a better camping, social and weather wise, experience. Met some Aussie's, Dutch, people from the Northeast, all over the states...real diverse crowd it seemed. Sahara tent should be dubbed Bass tent ha. Dillion Francis, Deorro, and Glitch Mob were great though.
I saw Glitch Mob, and they put on a great show even though I'm not a fan of the music. I was there with my lady-friend who is a huge fan of theirs. I was recording when Arcade Fire tricked everyone... but I'm too embarassed to post it. I was going INSANE and then I slowly realized it was fake. God it was great.
