I think the problem now is that there are so many more rappers and it's so much more mainstream that you are bound to run into a bunch of crap like this. In the previous generation of rap, if you sucked, no one heard you, but its so much easier to spread music now over the radio and internet that innocent people become exposed to "This is Why I'm Hot"... tragic really.

While you may be correct, it certainly doesn't take away from the fact that there is "good" rap as well as "bad" rap.

As much as I hate to say it, eminem kicks the crap outta 50 cent in talent.

I truly enjoyed 80's rap. There was a lot of decent stuff there.

I've got no qualms with mentioning my disdain for crappy music.

Black eyed Peas has had some decent hits. Nelly is awesome. 50 cent needs to find a bullet that mutes him.

    But, I'll give y'all this.

And the best rap song ever created:

Everytime I hear this is why I'm hot I always wanna scream at the radio. I'm hot cuz I live in Texas you idiot.

Rap as a whole just has to be broken down into subgroups. You don't listen to all kinds of rap for everything. Ie. Mims really is hot if you're in the club or you like to dance. Some rap songs are just for dancing. Everybody knows that they're dumb as hell but the beats are hot and they're fun. If you want substance to go with your rap then you listen to Nas or Lupe Fiasco or Tupac. You don't look at them for party songs. The problem with rap is that everything get dumped into the same group when it really just needs to be broken up.
