Man my group takes forever to vote on these songs man. Doesn’t take that long to listen to a 30min playlist and pick a fav. *** sakes!! Let’s get a league going guys!
Sure, thanks for the invite, just let me know the name of the league and info and I'll join. My league maxed out and I had to expand it, I might have to go slow for a while to save time lol. Appreciate it
How about a song about suicide? Here's Sarah McLachlan's rendition of the most depressing song ever written....Gloomy Sunday Written in Hungarian in 1933, it's about someone who contemplates suicide in order to be reunited with their lost loved one. NOTE: The last verse (which begins with "Dreaming.. i was only dreaming"...) was not part of the original song and was added later, during some English translations. This extra verse basically erases the previous verses by turning the whole thing into a dream sequence, which seems completely pointless IMHO.
theres a podcast series i listen to called 'the history of rock music in 500 songs' and theres an episode on a dude named johnny ace that i listened to today. he was an OG rock and roller from the early 50's. he shot himself in the head in the dressing room at a concert on christmas eve in houston in 1955 either by accident or playing russian roulette. big mama thornton was in the room when it happened. theres a song i always liked by a dude named dave alvin called 'johnny ace is dead' and i never knew that it was actually based on a true story! check out the song if you like texas roadhouse/blues and hot s*** guitar playing.
New Order - 1963 The Smiths - There Is A Light That Never Goes Out Not sure if these 2 songs qualify but there is talk about shooting (“don’t point that gun at me”) and a double decker bus and two ton truck crashing into people (Thanks Morrissey!) so I went with those.
I haven’t submitted a rap song yet so I picked this one for the final round lol. Updates coming soon.
