Ok...after thinking long and hard (that's what she said) I'd have to say this is my favorite song of the decade so far: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_8P1johNFyU"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_8P1johNFyU" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
I want to take a baseball bat to any band with a guy playing piano singing softly into a microphone. The whisper voice has got to go.
I have been trying to find out the singer and song that was on a commercial a year or two back for the longest time and was never able to. I was wondering if anyone here could help me. It was a Docker commercial a couple years back. (the pants). A song was playing in the background that went " today is the day your life will surely change......today's the day when things fall into to place" or something close to that, it had a kinda electronic beat. I never found out that one. The commercial was all in slo-mo and had diff images one of a dad jumping on a bed w/ two kids??/????
i think most jay-z fans would agree with you, but i like the black album better. thats the one i heard first so it stuck with me. again, if danger mouse never did the grey album i would have never gotten into jay-z - when im thinking of best albums of the decade i count the black album and the grey album as one - if there was no grey album the black album wouldnt be on my list. i think the bottom line is that im a huge beatles dork.
Prince did the "Black Album" thing back in 1994 but it was never really released until recently. http://www.amazon.com/Black-Album-Prince/dp/B000008JLN
LOL! You aren't alone. Some of these lists....half of the bands on the list I never heard of, a quarter I have heard the band name but couldn't hum a song from that band and the other quarter I might know but really hate their music! So, bands that I have liked this decade: Tool, Godsmack, Disturbed, Velvet Revolver, Audioslave, Stone Sour.

yoshimi battles the pink robots i used to sing "do you realize" to my first born son as a lullaby. to this day, it is beautiful to see his reaction when the song comes on. he even sings it to his youngest brother, 5 months old, when he's crying. i think i'm gonna cry now.
Oops, I forgot Bloc Party. And I was just discussing it in the other thread. Poor memory I guess. Did you hear about Bloc Party's drummer having a collapsed lung in mid concert a few months ago. They had to cancel the rest of their tour. But there was controversy regarding that tour as they were opening for Panic! at the Disco of all freaking bands.
Not really sure why the year 2000 doesn't count. That would significantly alter the list. Also, No Worries, that Sugarbomb album is great. I thought it might've been in the 90s though. Lit "Atomic" Weezer "s/t" Butch Walker - "Left of Self-Centered" Andrew W.K. - "I Get Wet" Brendan Benson - "Lapalco" The Darkness - "One Way Ticket to Hell ... and Back" Eddie Spaghetti - "The Sauce" Eagles of Death Metal - "Peace, Love, Death Metal" Tsar - "Band/Girls/Money" The Wildhearts - " ... Must be Destroyed" Danko Jones - "We Sweat Blood" Turbonegro - "Scandinavian Leather" The Cult "Beyond Good and Evil" Toadies "Hell Below/Stars Above" The Exploding Hearts "Guitar Romantic"
