James Blake broke out big time in 2010. He is from the UK dubstep scene. But the main difference between him and pure dubstep is he mixes elements of soul, R&B and electro into his music. These are some of his bigger songs: <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/oOT2-OTebx0?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/oOT2-OTebx0?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UBsJ09RhqZw?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UBsJ09RhqZw?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
Another Radiohead album is all I care about right now. (As long as it isn't another Hail to the Thief)
fyi, this already leaked and it's decent. The new Cut Copy is pretty good but slightly underwhelming following In Ghost Colours. I expect a new Lotus Plaza release has a higher chance than Deerhunter or Atlas Sound since Locketts been talking about it for awhile now. I'm looking forward to Burial and the Strokes new one which comes out in May. Aphex Twin and Radiohead are both sketchy with their releases so I'm not going to get my hopes up for them yet.
I almost forgot Bibio's Mind Bokeh <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cYgfwHjDCvE?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cYgfwHjDCvE?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
The link I posted in my opening post, someone had mentioned that on Geologist's blog, that Animal Collective were in the studio working on the next album. Nothing else was said & of course, just because they are supposedly in the studio now doesn't mean that an album is coming out this year. Have you heard anything on a possible Animal Collective release for this year?
This Will Destroy You's Tunnel Blanket. I don't think I have ever anticipated an album more. Well, except for Eros from Deftones....but that album might not ever happen. I hope Junius puts out a new album. Braveyoung's new album is supposed to be something special. crossing fingers for new Yndi Halda and Jakob too. lol yea right.
Mumford & Sons follow up to Sigh No More I otherwise am leaving the music scene for dead. Will give Dave Matthews' second solo album a listen.
From what I've seen I like your taste tehG l i d e, I'm too lazy to make a list so I just came in to post this one, he soundtracked my summer in 2009.
Watch the Throne- Kanye/Jay-Z new Radiohead new Strokes new Arctic Monkeys Tomboy- Panda Bear new My Morning Jacket cant think of anything else but im sure theres a bunch thatll come up and surprise me
have you heard any of this? I really dont care for EITS, but Take Care is supposedly something really non-EITS(which is a good thing, they have not evolved AT ALL in the past 10 years) judging from this..... <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/19149133" width="400" height="295" frameborder="0"></iframe><p> I'm looking forward to this one too.
I'm looking forward to Hayes Carll's KMAG YOYO and Todd Snider is supposed to have a new live album out in February.
i haven't heard that. i don't go to the random dmb forums, but this is something they would announce via the band's website.

It is special indeed. also... <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HHnBujqhUJQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pavb5Yprou4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Throw TV on the Radio into the mix. Also, look forward to Fleet Foxes' second album. Harrisment - did you say that Friendly Fires is supposed to release their 2nd album this year?
