Quick "did you know" on Morrissey Did you know that Morrissey almost joined GENERATION X (Billy Idol) but was rejected because he lived too far from London
Just noticed on your homepage that the cd can now be ordered online; so I'll do that. Are the Urgencies gonna move to NYC?
im with ya.... i cant stand that boo-hoo emo crap. go jump off a bridge and end it already. anyways..... no mention of the only band to be alotted 2 sets??? c'mon guys!! well, Panic brought the heat as usual. i heard several songs i really wanted (pigeons, pilgrims, greta, fishwater). the guys were feeling it, you could tell. they brought out a lot of surprises in set 2, especially with that "going out west" which had the place rockin. robert randolph came out for two songs in the second set and the place went nuts... great fishwater. i was groovin' like crazy (thanks to several beers, some whiskey, and a couple of vicodins ). other bands i saw: allaman brothers - had to see these guys, didn't disappoint at all. needed a longer set. gov't mule - caught most of their set and i totally dug it. warren hayes is a badass... i remember a nice little santana tease somewhere in the set. cool to see medeski sit in on keyboard. REK - surprisingly my 1st time to see him, played well and was obviously a crowd favorite. theivery corporation - these guys were awesome. had a huge crowd at their smaller stage, really chill and very different. a lot of people were talking about them afterwards. blues traveler - dont remember much of this set... it was good but nothing great. i think a fell asleep for a part of this. black crowes - awesome, although they didn't have as much energy as they did in houston. kind of a greatest hits setlist, but jammin nonetheless. i was a lot further back that i wouldve liked, though. robert randolph and the family band - thought billie jean was a cool opener, and he jammed as usual. popper sat in for an awesome cover of "good times, bad times" even though his mic was off for about 1/3 of the song (idiots ). teased some "war pigs" which totally rocked! drive-by truckers - so pissed that i didnt go to their show fri nite at stubbs... had my ticket, but i was just too sick and too tired after 9 hrs. in the sun. tried to find a friend to give the ticket to, but no luck..... they did rock sat though. really glad i got to hear "puttin people on the moon", that song rocks. same with "ronnie and neal." these guys are just pure southern rock, and definitely one of my favorite bands out there today. that's about it. so glad i didn't go sunday, dont think i would've made it. had no interest is seeing any of those bands anyways, except wilco. and forget about that nearly 110 degree heat.
I find your list somewhat amusing. If not for catching THe Black Crowes for a total of 10 minutes, I did not see any of the bands you listed.
