all you people that complain about trying to gain weight just make me sick! SICK, SICK, SICK, SICK, SICK!!!!!!!!!!!
It is very possible to gain a lot of muscle or weight in a relatively short period of time. a) if you have not lifted a lot in the past b) if you have a body that can handle it c) if you have the time to devote to it d) if you have the willpower to stick to it. e) if you know something about what you are doing or have a trainer working with you. If you are a powerlifter and have been lifting your whole life, you will not be able to put on 30 lbs of muscle in 3 mo. If you are a 6'11" skinny 19 yr old who has never really lifted hard in his life because he never had to (no reason to be stronger because he was already as good as or better than everyone at his level) and are now faced with needing to get stronger to have the career in the NBA you have always dreamed about? My guess is 30 lbs in 3 months is not a big deal. Now, if you were 37 years old and 230 already (aka BB), then it might be different. Still possible to do without roids, but would require a heck of a lot more work. Guys like Ken Griffey Jr and Barry Bonds were superstars without lifting weights. So why should they lift? Barry found out why as he got older. He couldn't keep up. So did he bust his butt or did he take a shortcut? Only he knows for sure. But for a guy like Griffin to gain 30 lbs at his age and size? That is nothing. Heck, we get Ming, it wouldn't surprise me to see him gain 50 lbs over 2-3 years if he has dedicated as he sounds and has the flexibility from Chinese govt to give it his all.
lelo, thanks a lot man. I am going to begin that program immediately.........although it does seem a bit demanding. But oh well, I think I have the determination.
Maybe 20 lbs, but I guarantee you did not gain 20 lbs of muscle(unless you had implants). Under the best conditions(natural or drug assisted) you could gain 2-4 lbs of muscle per month. Eat more and then eat more. 5-6 small to medium meals a day, especially breakfast and lunch. 3-4 times a day won't cut it on an intense workout schedule and definitely not if you have a fast metabolism.
I am 6' 4", around 210 and I am not fat although most of my muscle is in my head which means that muscle does not weigh as much as fat unless you are a fat head.
