Van Chancellor and Bill Worrel does not have chemistry. Does anyone else notice it? Whose fault is it then? Do you think the chemistry between them will improve with time?

    Anyone good at reading Jury's

    http://www.click2houston.com/news/3965048/detail.html

Murphy's testimony lasted a little more than one hour. Some jurors did not look at Murphy while he was questioned by the defense, according to court watchers.

    Calvin's son also testified

Murphy's son, one of several character witnesses called to testify by the NBA Hall-Of-Famer's defense team, was 13 years old and the only son who lived with the siblings when the alleged abuse occurred more than 10 years ago.

On cross-examination, Murphy Jr. admitted that he told investigators, "In his heart of hearts, one of his sisters would not lie for money."

I bet Calvin is broke. His daughters probably wanted to get back at him knowing that he would end up spending all of the $54,000 that their mother left him on legal bills. Kind of like if we can't have the money neither will you!

I would like to see him back if he is found not guilty though.

Bringing Murph back would be a very good Christmas present.

I wholeheartedly agree. If Calvin is innocent, then the right thing for the Rockets to do is welcome him back with open arms. He has a 95% approval ratings among the fans from his playing days and because he is a very good commentator and entertainer. You can't be around Calvin without his enthusiasm for the game rubbing off on you.

If not guilty I would love to see Murphy back. I would think next season might make sense, but I would welcome it whenever it happened.

I have heard a lot of people who don't like Van. I actually enjoy his commentary. He is no Calvin Murphy, and Calvin and Bill have developed a terrific chemistry that is hugely enjoying and entertaining. After having league pass for a several years, I think they are as good as it gets, and definitely in the top echelon of home team announcers.

well if he's innocent i wouldn't mind if they brought him back immediately.

however, i'd think you'd have to wait until the end of the season to do it. it would be weird to switch in the middle of the season AND you've gotta let the public forget a little. admit it, you'd be thinking about this case every time you heard him talk for a while.

the public is a very forgiving thing. even when you're actually guilty of something, a quick "i'm sorry," a little time passing, and everything is cool. however, this is one of those things that even if you're innocent, just having it mentioned is a huge thing. therefore, you'll need that time period to let it get out of people's minds. so if they bring him back, i could handle waiting until next year.

however, i fear they are not going to bring him back at all which would suck. that was one of my good things about moving back to houston after college, getting to hear bill and calvin every game and not just when LP puts them on.

so hopefully it all works out for calvin if he's innocent and hopefully we get him back calling games. maybe it's just best to let this horrific season run it's course and let murphy and everyone come back fresh for next year.

so are most of you voting on the not guilty side because thats what you want or because youve followed the trial and thats the way it seems it will turn out?

im an out-of-towner and i have not been able to see thew news reports, just chronicle reports

I have no idea of his guilt or innocense. I would hope innocent, because I would hate to think that these girls suffered what is alleged, and because I have been a fan of Calvin's.

I think the reason we talked about not guilty is because if he is guilty is a given that he won't be back, and there would be no discussion at all. I don't live in Houston, and have little knowledge of how the trial is going. I've just read the odd tidbit posted on this site.

If he is innocent, I don't think he's coming back. The rockets have been changing so many parts the past couple of years that I don't see him coming back. First it was Rudy, then Eddie Griffin, then Steve, cat, Cato. Everything I used to love about the rockets is leaving even the winning.

In that, I think you are mistaken.

Calvin is a Rocket lifer, he has been thru more lineup changes than most of us can even remember.

IF Calvin is innocent, adn the Rockets want him back, he will be back. Calvin loves doing what he does, he loves the Rockets, and it wouldnt surprise me a bit that he would do it till he couldnt talk anymore IF he was allowed to return.

Although Calvin is a lifelong rockets, as is Rudy, I don't think he'll be back. Not by his choice though. I remember a while back, the Rockets tried to fire him, the fans made a big deal so they brought him back. I don't know if those same people are still involved with the organization. My opinion, I would love to see him back. Even though he does get a little annoying, he and Bill W. work well together.

That's a classic line! Nice job.

I hope he's innocent and comes back asap. I really miss him during games. Not just his joking around, but his color as well. He's got style and substance. No one really talks about his substance as a play-by-play man. I always agree with all his takes during games. He's not afraid to call players out when they're not playing well. He's not a homer.

Hell, he'd make a good coach...

If Calvin doesn't come back, at least get Bullard to do all of the games instead of Van Chancellor. It really isn't even that Van is bad, but putting him in there with Bill and having Bill make fun of the way he talks is very annoying.

    I hope not.

I'd rather see Turbo come back first.

First of all, hearing daily reports of the trial, I think its no doubt he will be found innocent. It was just a he said, she said type of trial. And everyone seemed to have their skeletons.

And that being said, I don't think he's coming back. Calvin was producing kids like the late Ole Dirty b*stard. That type of lifestyle just doesn't fly in conservative Houston. He apparently admits to not treating all his kids the same, treating the few born in wed-lock better. That's horrible. Even if these girls were lying to get back at him, Calvin still created this situation.

Bill and Calvin used to joke on air about how many kids he had. But I don't think anyone had any idea he was living like that. His legacy is forever tarnished.

If Calvin is found not guilty and the Rockets don't hire him back, couldn't he sue his daughters for lost wages and things of that nature? In that scenario, things would have really backfired on them. Maybe that would help stop such claims, if they are in fact false.
