I'd rather have Hakeem coach us. Problem is, here's what will happen:

He'll try being an assistant, and he won't be able to do it, and it will be over.

The thing is, he should be HEAD coach. He knows what it takes, and he has the experience. He has every single players' respect too.

AS much as Hakeem was my hero, he was taught by others, for example Moses Malone. Hakeem was never realy the vocal leader of the Rockets,he was the great STARperformer.I can't see him having the concentration or communication to rebuild the Gameplan of our team.I am sure he would enjoy being a consultant or on the Board of Management.

Exactly, Hakeem led by example...not words. He set the example of pride, grace, humility, and excellence when he was the MAN. I'm sure he has volumes of valuable insights, but I'm not that sure about his knowledge of X's and O's, nor his abilities as a motivator.

    Hakeem can't talk. :(
    He can't yell or anything.
Calvin Murphy................then what would happen to ROCKETS TV?!?
    It would be terribly boring.
No one can replace Calvin Murphy!
But......Jeff Van Gundy or one of his TNT/ESPN comrades would be nice.

When is Moses Malone going to teach Yao?!? I know..it's not an obligation...but still.....he's great

The only reason I wouldn't want Murph as coach is because I'd miss him as commentator, but I could get over that when we were winning more (which we would).
