The Mummy Returns wasn't too bad, but I liked the first one much better. Some of the humor, action scenes and special effects in The Mummy Returns were great, but I felt that the movie contained a little bit too much action. I do like how the movie doesn't take itself too seriously though. I'll give it a 7.0 out of 10.

I saw the Mummy Returns and it was awesome. My dad saw driven and he said he walked out of it.

He sat with his teammate and buddy Cuttino Mobley in Philly and they talked about how they had whipped the Sixers and Pacers by about 30 each this season.

"Smacked the ... out of them," he said. "We have the talent."

that movie was moronic. I enjoyed the first one, this one just sucked. The kid was annoying, that reincarnation stuff was stupid(esp seeing the wife's fighting, her as an Egyptian was laughable as well), the computer monsters weren't as well done, for all of the Rock's hype he didn't do ****.

the battle scene with Anubis soldiers vs that lousy actor's army was boring. If the soldiers are so fearsome, why did no one die? Am I the only one who got a Jurassic Park 2 flashback in that forest scene? I guess those little creatures are supposed to be Gremlin Ewoks or something. THat air ballon was terrible. The background music was atrocious. The death scene of the wife was a waste of time, as if anyone really believes she is dead for good. Last but not least, the scorpion Rock has to be one of the worst big "monsters" since that muppet from Mortal Kombat.

bad bad movie. hopefully the other sequels this year won't be as bad. The final fantasy trailor dissapointed me a little as well. not quite what I was expecting.

I saw both last week, and I gotta say, I wasn't too enamoured with Mummy 2. I mean, I DID think it was better than Driven, but not by much.

I don't know why Driven got such HORRIBLE reviews...I thought it was at least DECENT. Sure, they both could have been better...but there were EXCELLENT special effects in Mummy and some really cool crash scenes in Driven.

Plotlines for both of them sucked ass, but who the hell needs plotlines? I'd say only a few movies each year have really good plotlines. [IMG]

The kid was the most annoying part of the movie, hands down.

Maybe I'm getting old or something, but I did not have that same cool feeling I had in Mummy 2 compared to other movies from years past related to this one. For example, the Indiana Jones triology was very impressionable, and enjoyable.
However, this one felt a tad hollow. I understand the structure of this kind of movie is not to put stock in the realism and enjoy it for what it is worth, but I can't say I left with a worthwhile feeling.

p.s. sorry for posting late, but I've been away on business -- glad to be back [IMG]
