Exactly. We're talking about the franchise's most valuable player. He could have a hangnail and he'd probably get a second opinion.

Johnson post on Facebook last night:

News for yall I'm fine. Imma miss some time but it's just the staff being safe, I'll be good to go soon

Anyone have opinions? Sounds like the big guy feels fine. The team just doesn't want another Foster situation.

It also makes sense given the nature of the injury. It seems like it's not a "normal" hamstring injury. Pure speculation, but it looks like it occurred more at the base of the hamstring than the mid leg (and i'm just basing that on where he held his leg).

Also, for him to have gone down that hard and in that much pain, but then all of a sudden he is walking around with seemingly minimal discomfort...that's just strange.

I am glad they are getting a second opinion...you don't take your franchise player and HOF player's injury lightly.

Lets go the optimist route...we don't do that too much with the Texans. The initial diagnosis may have been that there isn't much on the x-ray to show Andre needs to miss time. But the way Andre went down on Sunday has the staff puzzled that he could return so fast so they are getting additional opinions.

that's kind of what I'm thinking...they are shocked that he isn't that hurt and don't want to rush.

I don't know why they are so shocked...it's Andre Freaking Johnson...pain don't hurt

Exactly...i think he probably feels fine now, which is weird, and that's why they are getting more opinions. If there's no real swelling, brusing, etc, then they're better off asking around more for opinions, rather than assuming it was a fluke and clearing him. The area he grabbed was definitely unusual for a hamstring injury. I'm still wondering if he felt a cramp, shooting pain, or what exactly.

I am seriously depressed for DD's fantasy football team. Such a terrible tragedy.

Thank God I have Steve Smith and Vincent Jackson too....

    :)

Re: Andre - The news is ok, but what bothers me the most about all of this is how he went down, most players when they pull a muscle etc, they limp forward, he went down like he could not run even one more step.

That seems odd to me, how many times do we see baseball players limp to the next base, and then stop to be taken out.....?

Andre just looked like his legs just would not carry him, then looked ok in street clothes on the sidelines.

Maybe he was just scared when it happened?

^ Sad thing is he is still making it seem like it's funny that he mentions Fantasy Football in his posts, trying to play down what an insensitive remark he initially made about Andre Johnson. Even after saying "my bad"...

Maybe there were defenders in front of him and he knew taking a hit at that point would probably make things worse?

Football players kind of have to "load/wind up" when they run to take hits and make cuts. Baseball players can run more loosely, so they would be putting less force on the injury as it happens and have lss reason to pull up/fall down completely.

He just doesn't understand that **** can happen when you are exercising or playing sports. Fluke injuries happen. Athletes tolerances for pain and their recovery time are completely different then us regulars.

If there isn't enough anti-awesomeness, then its not really worth it.

Swoly, all you do these days is come in and personally toss around bits about me.

How is your post above even related to this topic? Answer, it isn't.

I will ask you politely to stop.

Now back to the Andre Johnson hammy injury status update.

See, that is what I am hoping, that it just spazzed out on him and he sort of freaked (as we all would) and went down.

That would explain the grabbing of the back of the leg.

Andre is a human being, not some sort of number and for you to say such a thing is classless.

I'm sure your fantasy team is much more important than a human being's general health.
