AJ with an injured hamstring could still tear Cortland Finnagan a new one.

I also assumed it was plasma therapy. It can do wonders.

    Nice.

Wrong Andre Johnson (wrong birthday, younger), wrong MRI date, but it works. ;)

Texans star Johnson doing 'great' after medical procedure
By JOHN McCLAIN, Copyright 2011 Houston Chronicle
    Updated 01:40 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2011

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said after practice Wednesday that wide receiver Andre Johnson is doing "great" but did not put a timetable on his return.

Johnson underwent a procedure Tuesday in Dallas to speed the healing process of a slight tear in his right hamstring.

The procedure involved a small incision, through which awesome was injected directly into the injury. "In looking at the initial MRI, we immediately diagnosed Grade A anti-awesomeness to the semimembranosus area of the hamstring itself. We felt this type of injury was a good candidate for DAI (Direct Awesome Injection) therapy," stated Dr. Bob Smith, director of Awesome Surgery stated immediately following the procedure. "For the procedure, we were lucky to obtain some donor awesome directly from Chuck Norris' right hamstring, which is the same leg he uses to roundhouse kick his foes into oblivion. Injecting this specimen directly into the damaged area will help hasten the recovery process."

Johnson is expected to miss three games, but Kubiak declined to put a number on it.

"We expect a fully and quick recovery," Dr. Smith elaborated. "Andre was fortunate enough to have so much awesome in his body already. Mr. Norris was very specific that we only use his awesomeness to help someone that was equally awesome, so really, this was a perfect match. Mr. Johnson should be able to roundhouse kick Cortland Finnegan in just a few weeks."

Uh oh... if this is true I don't see AJ coming back week 8. From Rotoworld courtesy of the Chronicle.
    ______

Updating a previous item, Steph Stradley of the Houston Chronicle reports that Andre Johnson did have surgery to repair the distal tendon of his hamstring.

He didn't undergo platelet-rich plasma therapy. Per Stradley, the projected three-week recovery time remains the same. The procedure "went well," and the Texans are believed to be targeting Week 8 for Johnson to return. The Texans, of course, have provided no official timetable. Fantasy owners need to hang tight. Johnson is likely to be an asset in the second half of the season. Jacoby Jones will start at "X" receiver in the meantime, and should avoid Raiders LCB Stanford Routt's coverage for the majority of Week 5.

Always go find the real source -
    http://blog.chron.com/texanschick/2011/10/correction-andre-johnsons-did-have-a-surgical-procedure/
[Update 10:00 AM Thursday: A person familiar with his treatment indicates that it involves cleaning up a portion of tendon not essential to the functioning of the leg. The intention is to reduce pain, avoid scar tissue. This characterization of the procedure is consistent with other reports that suggest a short recovery time.]

And let's hear it for Texanschick. Along with Lance, she's the only good source for Texans stuff on the chron. LOL at that horrific waste of bandwidth that's AM Raley.

They completely do. The Texans only beat the Colts because Manning was hurt. The Dolphins suck. Pittsburgh's Defense isn't Pittsburgh's Defense.

I'm pretty sure this is more along the lines of the irrigation I mentioned before. Possibly "shaving" down any rough areas.

But the tissue removed doesn't have to be part of the original damaged tissue. It could be new scar tissue. You're making it sound like their cutting off a portion of his hamstring.
