Whenever the Merry Christmas thing comes up, I link to the video of the Obamas saying Merry Christmas a number of times.
No. It says everything you need to know about people who post her videos. When someone that is a Trumper posts her garbage what they are saying is that: "Look... a BLACK WOMAN agrees with me on my racist stances, and she thinks YOU GUYS are the racists for calling me a racist... Im not really a racist.... SEE...SEE....Would a Racist post a video of a Black Woman?.... NOT A RACIST!!!!" (and anyone who has to try so hard to try and prove they are not a racist.... is probably a racist) It makes people that post her garbage look freaking pathetic. Candace Owen, and Silk and Diamond are not independent black women. These are not independent thoughts they spew... they just regurgitate Hannity/Rush talking points back down the same echo chamber, but with a black face so that echo chamber can claim they are not racist. They know what they are doing, and they are doing what they need to do to get retweets, and posts, and be a talking head on FoxNews, and maybe get a book deal. Good for them. People who give them money and fame to try and prove they aren't racists are the real fools.
Funny how whites find the handful of voices that agree with them and neglect the thousands that don't.
In actuality those Handful of Voices find them out more than they find them out. I mean MAAAYYBBEEEE Silk and Diamond really do believe some of what they say now but lets not act like complete fools here. This is a business for them. They know exactly what they are doing, and they are the ones targeting the Daschuda's of this country. They are the fools, not Silk and Diamond and Candace Owens who are making a killing off these suckers.
It's amazing (actually, not really) how many white folks are finding a video of some random black person that agrees with them and say stuff like "now this guy gets it". Meanwhile these same white people and I have a black friend in common that has been subjected to mistreatment by the police (including a nonsensical arrest) for doing nothing except being black in Houston. Not sure (well, actually I am) why they don't listen to his views.
Oh man I never really picked up on the "now this guy/woman gets it" comment, but it is ALWAYS there in the Candace Owen Facebook posts. Always. It's like subliminally telling folks "this is how black people should act, and stay in line." They think they are defending themselves because of their political affiliation to obvious racism, but in the end, it's just re-affirming & compounding it.
Gee, a deeply angry middle aged blue collar man is mad about BLM. I’m related to famous people. Can I get an interview, too?
I fail to see how when many muslim nations are black. I would say they are xenophobic in a religious sense though.
Otoh, many of us despise the insinuation - that white people don't think black lives matter. Most of us have good friends and even family who are black.
I'm just quoting this here but it was in the Jesus thread but it fits more here but... You are delusional if you think Ali, in the prime of his life, would say ANYTHING to appeal to white america. He's said some of the most flatly racist things a black man can say and for anyone to believe that Ali would buckle and try to play nice and go "Oh, ALL LIVES MATTER" when the guy was calling Frazier an Uncle Tom...and that's one of the more milquetoast things he's said regarding race. Some of you dudes just live in a parallel universe.
It's evident that your ignorant of what the Nation of Islam is. Do some research. This would be the same as using Mormonism to speak for Catholic nations.
Yeah the Nation of Islam isn't what most people including Muslims think of Islam. It is a group that preaches black separatism and black superiority. Among it's teachings are that white people were created by evil scientist. Malcolm X himself split off from the Nation of Islam because he found those views too extreme. He moderated his views and embraced mainstream Islam. For that he was assassinated by followers of the Nation of Islam. On a side note I've seen a few people say that if Muhammed Ali was alive today he would be against BLM. You might be right he would be against BLM because they didn't go far enough. Cassius Clay became Muhammed Ali because he became a follower of Elijah Muhammed the leader of the Nation of Islam in the 1950's and 1960's. He very much believed that black people were not just systematically oppressed by white society and changing his name was dropping his 'slave name'. He went to jail for avoiding Vietnam War draft because he didn't want to fight a war for white men against people of color.
I agree with all of this except the reason Malcolm X was assassinated it was more of a power struggle and jealousy than him turning away from the teachings. I was member of The Nation when young and still remember what was being taught, it was a racket but it was needed at the time to instill some pride in the black race kind of like fighting fire with fire. Even at a young age I did not like that women were subservient or that all white people were the devil.
Ah yes the old "Slavery has been over for 400 years. I never owned a slave so why are you Negroes still complaining about slavery?" post. Oh and I am NOT a racist BTW... Was waiting for this post - it always turns up like clockwork!
Ali, tossed his gold medal in the river... He refused to fight in the Vietnam war... His words "The Vietnamese people have done me no wrong, “Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go 10,000 miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on Brown people in Vietnam while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights? No I’m not going 10,000 miles from home to help murder and burn another poor nation simply to continue the domination of white slave masters of the darker people the world over. This is the day when such evils must come to an end. I have been warned that to take such a stand would cost me millions of dollars. But I have said it once and I will say it again. The real enemy of my people is here. I will not disgrace my religion, my people or myself by becoming a tool to enslave those who are fighting for their own justice, freedom and equality. If I thought the war was going to bring freedom and equality to 22 million of my people they wouldn’t have to draft me, I’d join tomorrow. I have nothing to lose by standing up for my beliefs. So I’ll go to jail, so what? We’ve been in jail for 400 years.” ― Muhammad Ali
You were correct - I was ignorant of " The Nation of Islam". Odd that they use (or respect) the christian bible as well. You learn something every day.
The very word "slave" derives from the word for some white people who were enslaved on a mass scale—the Slavs—for more centuries than blacks were enslaved in the Western Hemisphere. “If you were to give reparations to everyone whose ancestors had been slaves, I suspect that you would have to give reparations to more than half the entire population of the globe. Slavery was not confined to one set of races.” Slavery has existed all over the planet for thousands of years, with black, white, yellow and other races being both slaves and enslavers. Does that mean that everybody ought to apologize to everybody else for what their ancestors did? And why liberals are making the situation worse - If you want to see the poor remain poor, generation after generation, just keep the standards low in their schools and make excuses for their academic shortcomings and personal misbehavior. But please don't congratulate yourself on your compassion. So when these quotes were said by a black man, what is the excuse now? Would you be more willing to discuss this instead of just playing the race card to justify poor behavior? Or is he written off as not being black enough?
