    Link for the ongoing investigation?

I know Kushner and Trump are being looked into giving the Saudis nuclear information along with security clearances.

It seems there’s a parallel investigation into whatever Clinton is accused of....

I didn’t realize Clinton used executive power to obstruct an investigation into herself. She probably would have as president but Trump beat her to it.

Your boy Trump is worse than Clinton. That must hurt.

Except for the efforts of @Os Trigonum, the posts of the overwhelming majority of you consist of repeated attacks on Hillary Clinton, which is absurd on so many levels, and ignoring blatant lies by the current attorney general, blatant lies by Mr. trump, blatant lies by his press secretary, blatant lies by his latest Chief of Staff, and by several others closest to trump. All have been addressed by many detailed posts here by several members, many of whom aren’t the “lefty’s” you are obsessed with, and yes, replied to, more often than not, by juvenile cartoons and a few repetitious sentences.

You, as in the overwhelming majority of you, ignore trump’s attacks on our judicial system. You ignore his attacks on our national security apparatus, buying into the bizarre idea that all 16 or 17 of the agencies, busy spending billions to gather intelligence on our enemies, would get together and make up the Russian attacks on the fundamental basis of our form of government, our elections. Mr trump spent 90 minutes in conversation with Mr. Putin, former KGB officer, a couple of days ago.

When asked by a member of the media if he had brought up the documented, as in not made up, assault on our election in 2016 and whether trump had demanded that Russia end all such attacks in the future, what was trump’s response? First, he said he was insulted by the question. When another member of the media asked about it again, he said it hadn’t been brought up. Hadn’t been brought up in 90 minutes of conversation with the man who leads a country that is our adversary! Who wishes us no good at all. Who is clearly using trump for reasons of his own, reasons having to do with weakening our country at home and abroad, weakening our relationships with our allies and friends, and worse. Mr. trump himself couldn’t find the time to bring it up? That doesn’t disturb you? It doesn’t disturb you at all? And if it doesn’t, why doesn’t it?

It is like Trump is more focused on Trump than the United States of America.

I’m not going to say what I really think about that comment, except to say that’s it is unbelievable someone could be that oblivious to the truth.

Oblivious to the truth about the diagnosable narcissism of Barack Obama, you surely must mean.

Mr. trump’s attorney general, at trump’s behest, has launched an assault on the Constitution of the United States. It is an act of desperation. Barr, under trump’s orders, is claiming “executive privilege” in an attempt to prevent Congress from holding him in contempt of Congress for perjury, saying that they will be prevented due to that “executive privilege” from viewing the complete Mueller Report and the underlying evidence. Congress has yet to view the entire report and the evidence, which adds to this bizarre attempt. It is illegal.

Congress has the right, under the Constitution, to exercise oversight of the executive branch. In another effort, Mr. trump’s Treasury Secretary has broken the law by withholding trump’s tax returns, which the law clearly states Congress has the right to see if they ask for them. These events are an act of madness on trump’s part, and he apparently has found a handful of people who are willing to follow the man into lawlessness.

Our country and it Constitution are under attack by its president.

Obama definitely had a sense of the historicity of his presidency and obviously would have liked to go down in the history books as one of the greats. Definitely some narcissism there, though I wouldn't say it is an unuseful sort. It made him want to achieve great things for the country so he could take credit. Trump's narcissism imo is more malignant because it is more predicated on short-term results and him getting his way over his political enemies. What he accomplishes doesn't need to be historically great for him to be happy, it just needs to be his way.

Don't know why he says Barr didn't read the report. Barr said he didn't review the primary sources. If you can show me some admission that he didn't read the report, I'd be legit shocked.

On the standoff, it's pretty obvious that the Admin will try to make these investigations roll as slowly as possible to minimize the damage before the election. (Then after the election, assuming Trump wins, they'll say the American people obviously are okay with Trump so no need to continue investigating.) So I see no point at all in the House negotiating with the White House or trying to find a voluntary accommodation. Hold Barr in contempt, put him in Congressional jail, impeach him, whatever -- go all out asserting the powers of the branch and get the issues into litigation as soon as possible. Because that's where it is going to end up anyway.
