Giddy:

Other than this D Rose guy who celebrated his 69th birthday yesterday (that is what it said down at the bottom of the main page), you are the oldest person here as you are pushing 50.

Why do you let people that you have never even met get your blood pressure boiling??

I'm 20 years younger than you and I am still prone to bouts of being a hothead, but come on man, you should be past the stage of throwing temper tantrums here.

I'm not saying this to incite you; I'm saying it to help you realize it is not worth getting worked up over. People here know you get worked up and they push your buttons. That is why I think rimmy said what he said about you (but then again who knows with rimmy:p ).

Dudley Moore had a club foot. How does rimmy compare to Dudley Moore?

Behad -- Rimmy is shorter, balder and not quite as masculine as Dudley Moore. But on the plus side, rimmy is still alive.

behad: Just keep minding your own business. You should be ashamed of yourself. You must be a small man to issue insults over the Net. I don't attack anybody, but I will strike back. There is no point in posting unprovoked hostile stuff like that.

rimbaud: The off-topic part was where you insisted on dressing me down here online. I got the song; that was on-topic. If I thought you had much respect for anything, I'd worry more about it but you are cavalier about everything. I just get tired of reading it aimed at me.

AstroRocket: I have a PayPal account. Send all contributions to richard@triad.rr.com. I'll make the best use of all that comes in. Might even forward it to Cluch, you never know.

Esource: I'm sure you are on to something there. There's not much new under the sun, but we havent' always romanticized it either.

Manny: That was no temper tantum. I've made a legitimate complaint. I am very fair-minded and I'm not being treated with the same politeness with which I treat people. I don't issue insults. Is that really too much to ask?

No contradiction there....

Dude, you set yourself up as a target. I know that as long as continue to post something, anything, that has your name on it, you will respond, usually harshly. I could say "giddyup, you're acting like a dinner plate", and you'll respond as if I threw a plate at you. In the immortal words of Sgt. Hulka..."Lighten up, Francis".

Man, the first one hurt...the second on just down right killed.

Manny,

People here know you get worked up and they push your buttons. That is why I think rimmy said what he said about you (but then again who knows with rimmy ).

Actually, I was just trying to make a joke. Isn't that familiar to a line in Carrie or something? You know, since he flet that people were insulting him, I thought it would be funny to act as if I was the crazy mother who was encouraging dementia...that wasn't obvious? Hmmm...oh, nevermind.

I personally did not think anyone was trying to push his buttons, the same way I was not trying to push Mrs JB's and she was not trying to push mine. She just thinks she is funny and is trying to use humor to overcome the fact that I am better looking.

And I don't think giddy is the oldest...I know of a few that have him beat. I also do not think he was throwing a temper tantrum...just performing a Rodney Dangerfield - and Dangerfield is older.

My parents probably thought Ed Lover, Beavis and Butthead, and Jenny McCarthy were all pretty dumb too. Giddy you're just old dude. :D

It's actually kind of funny to bash MTV for bad television because the networks copy them a lot. Survivor/Big Brother/Fear Factor and a lot of these very successful reality based shows are just Real World/Road Rules rip offs.

I was flipping channels last night and stopped on MTV. They were running a special called "Headbangers Ball Uncensored". I really miss that show. Same with MTV Raps. I watch it now and can't believe they actually used to show videos. I would love it if there was a series of music channels that played videos specifically from different genres of music.

Rap TV
Metal TV
Techno TV
Blues TV
Classic Rock TV

:(

References to 2 great movies in "Stripes" and "Carrie".

Thanks, giddy for starting it!

behad: I didn't type what I thought-- enough said. Now that would have indicated a temper tantrum. Just because I won't take your insults, doesn't mean I'm having a temper tantrum... LOL.

Our last exchange was regarding the terrorist threat in Pasadena. Was I harsh in any way? Tell me whenever I was harsh with you? Tell me when I was harsh with anyone when I wasn't just snapping back.

I am not above snapping back, but even that takes some pushing.

giddyup: you've missed the entire point I was trying to make. You are really easy to goad into an argument. You take a defensive stance whenever you are mentioned by name. That is what I meant when I said I think of a ton of flippant comebacks to your posts. Mrs. JB's original post to you, as I interpreted it, was a simple lighthearted jab at you, yet you took a defensive stance. That brought out the others you mentioned by name. You make yourself an easy target. Lighten up some, don't be so serious all the time, and have some fun.

Look at the exchange between rimbaud, Mrs. JB, and myself. We've all been here a long time, and even though we all know rimmy is a hugely egotistical know it all, we still enjoy his company :) (<< this smiley tells rimbaud I am just jabbing at him...sort of.)

The start of this basketball season will be 4 years I have been a regular here. You'll never make it if you don't have a sense of humor.

Maybe I don't speak the lingo here. Does a smilie of any sort mean that the message is considered a joke in entirety? I thought they were just "accents."

I just don't get this poking fun at people....

Are you saying that you don't have a circle of friends that you can joke around with, taking playful shots at? A lot of us know each other well enough (though we have never met) that we feel comfortable talking about each other. Look at Dr. of Dunk. I've never met him, yet I know he takes the insults about his age with the humor in which it was intended. Same for rimbaud and his ego, or me and my overbearingness on newbies.

Laugh at yourself, and the rest of the world will laugh with you.
