Good article, but I think the Astros need to believe that they are the underdogs if they are going to win this thing.

Tell this guy to be quiet ... we're much better when nobody knows how good we are and we're the underdog! :D

Seriously, awesome article though. He makes the case very, very well. (especially love that stat about how the percentage of games not started by the Big 3 in the regular season.)

Finally, some respect. However, I would like it for us to stay the underdog and suprise everyone. :D

Yea, tell em to keep quiet. The overnight lines on the games are still pretty good if you are wagering on the Astros.

i don't think this current bunch gives a damn, one way or the other. that's one of the things that's so remarkable about them. i just don't think they pay attention to all that...whether they're favored or whether they're not.

"The Cardinals were a higher-scoring team this season without a DH than the White Sox were with a DH. Yet the Astros completely shut down the Cards in the NLCS."

That is a very interesting point... I think we could easily shut down their offense like we did the Cardinals, let's just hope our offense can get to their too-rested bullpen.

No matter how this series turns out, Clemens, Pettite, and Oswalt will give the Astros a strong rotation to go into the series. They each get at least one start. And Backe is so emotional that under pressure he pitches as good as any pitcher in the game.

And the Astros play enough small ball to put pressure on any team.

And the Defense has been rock solid. I am amazed at Adam Everett, Willy Tavarez, and Jason Lane. The rest of the guys are really solid on defense.

The best pitching rotation with probably the best bullpen get to take the mound in the World Series!! And they do it for the Astros!
