MSNBC: 100,000 people at the Obama Rally in St. Louis

Obama is the first candidate ever who is both too black and not black enough. Hilarious.

 

Actually history has seen this same rally before.

Same Politics.

Same Rhetoric.

Same Slogan.

Same Outcome.

 

You really think Obama's politics are the same as Communism?

I've got Nigerian friends who moved to this country for college and have experienced the same kind of subtle or not so subtle racism "African-American Descents" experience. People don't look at it that way, they'll always categorize.

And I'm sure Obama wasn't seen as just a "white kid" growing up. He had to go through what any other "Africa-American descent" kid would gone through, whatever that may be.

 

It's because he's the first minority candidate with a legitimate chance of winning the Presidency.

There's a lot of nasty labels for Colin Powell or Rice, but they would get similar criticisms about "blackness" should they ever seal a party nomination.

 

While everyone else was busy taking pictures of the whole crowd, I got down amongst them and took some pictures of the rally-goers. Here's one:

The easiest thing would be just to stay out of this but... doesn't the term African-American usually refer to black Americans who can or think they can or wish they could trace their genealogy back to Africa?

Most of them don't have Kenyan fathers... or grandfathers for that matter. It usually goes back much further to find some family member who has ever had feet on the African continent.

At any rate it is a term that is kind of amorphous. So it is my conclusion is that Obama is African-American... it means nothing. Are white South Africans Africans, too?

African Americans = Americans of African descent.

and yes white South Africans, Kenyans, Tanzanians, Nigerians.... etc are considered African. I have met several and they do consider themselves African. I really don't see what you find so strange about this. Africa is not a race it is a place anybody can be from there.

 

Charlize Theron is of African decent, I think she would make a better a VP nominee than Sarah barracuda
