http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/6242496.html Nancy Adams dies at 84 Titans owner, wife of Bud lived in Houston after Oilers move By JOHN McCLAIN Copyright 2009 Houston Chronicle Feb. 2, 2009, 7:10PM Nancy Adams, who was married to Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams for 62 years, died peacefully Sunday night after a brief illness. Adams, 84, met her husband at the University of Kansas, and they settled in Houston after World War II. Bud Adams founded the Oilers in 1959, and they were an original member of the American Football League that began play in 1960. Nancy Adams, a Mississippi native, was active in the community and devoted to her husband, one of the most controversial figures in Houston history. Adams moved the Oilers to Tennessee after the 1996 season and renamed them the Titans in 1999. “I’m deeply saddened to report that after a brief illness, I have lost my beloved wife, Nancy,” Adams said in a statement. “She was the love of my life, and we shared so many great memories. I’ll miss her greatly, but know how lucky we were to have each other’s company for so long.”
RIP. I know nothing that what I just read about Nancy Adams and while I think her husband stabbed Houston I'm not going to hold that against her. Its always sad to lose someone but it also sounds like she led a long life was loved and died peacefully. I think we could count ourselves very lucky if that is our lot.
You and I think alike... But losing a wife has to be terrible. It was for my dad when mom died. RIP Nancy. Bud, don't keep her waiting, eh? It's a joke, people. Morbid humor... like the "naturally he shoots Bud Adams twice" one...
