Sorry rocketfan83, Larry had a horrible sub pattern. Yao's been our biggest contributor in the 4th lately and Smith sat him with only 4-5 minutes in the game. Instead of Yao playing the entire 4th like he has been, he was sitting on the bench, watching the sonics extend their lead to 14...not good. MM consistent sat out Yao for long periods of time...just like rice and taylor. You know something's not right when moochie is taking as many shots as he did! LOL. I have a greater respect for Rudy after this game...I cringe when I think what would happen to the Rockets if Rudy had to leave for long periods of time.

Lemme get this straight....with yao getting double and triple teamed BEFORE he got the ball, 1)you leave your best 3 point shooter on the pine? 2) the team shoots 3 for 18 from the 3 point arc (before rice comes in) and then when you have a player who can draw a double and triple team, you dont put him in the game for the sake of disrupting the defense and altering shots on the other end of the floor? Yao ming is a defensive threat as well ladies and gentlemen. Just because you can't run the offense through him doesnt mean you can't put him on the floor to alter/block some shots in the paint. With him in the game at least your so called guards can attempt to guard the outside and prevent those 10 or 11 three pointers from raining down on your heads.
No, no no no. Rudy will be back. At this time of the season it is not a good idea for the Ass Coach to practice coaching ... Or maybe early next season.
Yao didn't play the 4th because he wasn't quick enough to rotate out on their three point shooters that were killing us.
I don't think all the blame goes to Mr. Mean, but I do hope that some people will realize how much of Rudy's good moves they took for granted.
This is just getting r****ded. I propose a cc.net And 1 mix tape viewing night so that we can see that the difference between that and the way cat and steve play is far too different to keep making the same tired joke over and over.
Mr.Mean made some subs that I didn't agree with that I was used to seeing Rudy make in the 4th. Cato is a terrific player in the sense that he's a hard worker, but Yao makes his teammates better, and has a better offensive game. Also Yao is going to be a big part of the Rockets future so it would only make more sense to let him get more experience in those situations then Cato, even if the end result was still a loss, were Yao playing the whole 4th. I would of liked to see Rice in the game more often, because he helps stop the double and triple teams that our low post guys were getting all night, by simply making draining his threes. I don't really mind Moochie playing so much tonight, because he made his buckets, and was productive overall. And believe it or not, I would of liked to see Griffin play more then he did tonight, because he was very productive as well. Maybe I was getting confused tonight, but didn't Posey play at Power Forward for some parts of the game when we went small with Cato, Posey, Moochie, Francis, and Cat? I didn't really like that lineup, because we were getting whooped on the boards then, and you can't let a good perimeter team clean up on the boards as much as they did. Also that took away any inside offensive presence we had. So those substitutions I didn't agree with. Lastly, I didn't really like the return of a lot of the ISO moves from our guards tonight, particuarly Francis, since he was the main guy doing that tonight. I understand that our big men were getting double and triple teamed all night, but that doesn't negate that Francis should be neglecting his teammates so much. He did get his 9 assists tonight, but it's more then just a number in a game. It's how you get the assists, when you get them, and who you get them to. I feel Francis didn't get the job done in leading the team, although I know he tried. He just got misguided by going 1 on 1 on those few occasions. Lastly, I was dissapointed by Yao's defense tonight, simply because he kept his arms down on the driving attempts by the Sonics. He didn't really seem to alter as many shots tonight as he did previously. He needs to keep those arms up! I'm not so dissapointed by his perimeter defense since he shouldn't have to man up on Centers that bomb threes. Put someone that's better suited to guarding the perimeter, and let Yao clog the paint the way he should. Anyhow that's my analysis.

Right. This loss was all on Coach. Coach Rudy. The back doors, the missed assignments all point to heads being 'not in the game', but maybe in Houston? Now, if they are gamers they'll come out tonite and crown the Queens.
We play Portland tonite... Did anyone else notice Cato making some jumpers in Seattle? Seems like Yao is rubbing off on him..now if we can get Cato's boardwork to rub off on Yao... L Smith made some bad sub decisions, no question in my mind.. Rudy reportedly wont be with the team till Fri? Is this still the case? I hope not, the team needs RT there with them.. they can afford to lose this one, but they better come out ready to kick butt tonite and for the next couple of games at least....come on guys, they playoffs are still within reach, don't give up yet!
