I guess the players quit on Mr. Mean when they were some missed Yao and Mo Taylor freethrows away from beating Sacramento and they took a Laker team that was playing well down to the wire. That's just stupid. This team didn't quit when they beat Philadelphia either.
Count Doughku makes a lot of sense, and I will concede that Mr. Mean sucks. The point is that we are not nconsistent because we are young. We make the same mistakes game in and game out every season. Cat is one of the main culprits and he is a veteran. Steve is now officially a vet. When was the last time you saw Isaiah or Magic skipping up the court. Also, Mean wouldn't even have had the option of playing Moochie more minutes if Rudy and CD hadn't signed the guy to a long-term deal.
No Chance:- This is what Bill and Calvin suggested during a game. I concluded this is their only logical explaination, that they DARE say on TV. Cato is one of the Rox success stories at back up Center and is one that logically one would not be trading. Of course I just think that it was because of a Coach/Yao Ming problem about playing style and Larry Smiths biased poor judgement.
Logically? Logic says that a 7 footer paid 7 footer $$$ who is coveted by others while sitting on your bench = TRADE. Trade KC while is value is up. It won't be this high again until the last year of his contract.
First of all, explain to me how anything of what I said was an excuse for the Rockets losses. I was merely stating that it is not entirely fair to blame the coach for the losses. Shoot, no single person on that team, from Les all the way down to the freakin ball boys, is to blame for any of their pathetic losses this season. It's a team game. Therefore, win or lose, the whole team is responsible. Could Rudy have punished his starters for their poor play during those games by benching them? Perhaps. Was their anything he could have done to better prepare them mentally? Perhaps. I'm not going to say that he did the best job possible preparing his guys for those games. Frankly I don't know. But listening to what the players said after and before those games, it was clear that THEY, not the coaches, were the ones not getting the job done....that they were well prepared for those games, but they made one all important mistake...they failed to take those teams seriously. That my friends, has nothing to do with Rudy, but every one of those players that stepped onto the court each night, the game theirs to lose.
