I use a Rio CE2100 2.5 GB (works with subscription services). For amplification, I use the incredible Sonic T-Amp.

Link to review from 6moons. If you have not heard the T-Amp, you definitely need to give it a try. You can get one for 20 bucks. The sound exceeds any PC speaker set or Ipod dock type set by far. The sound is just unbelievable coming out of this thing - almost a tube like sound.

it's pretty nice (but I'd like more memory) and I cycle around 60 songs a week in it.

as for headphones I have used a bunch so far:
    1) the factory headphones which got lost
    2) Sony MDR-E818 which were awesome...till they broke
    [IMG]
    3) Philips HE592 which were also awesome...till they broke
    [IMG]
    4) and now the Koss "spark plugs" which I thought looked stupid at first but they sound really good for only 10 bucks

anyone recommend a good pair of durable headphones that can survive a while? or maybe headphones weren't made to be with me.

I've got one too. I had to return the first one I had because the headphone jack malfunctioned. I guess it's a common problem. The one I have now works pretty well though.

I picked up this little player for videos:

It's the Samsung YP-T8Z. It only has 1gb of space, but its plenty for me. After you compress your videos (which is pretty painless with the accompanying software), you can fit quite a few things on there. I've got the first season of Entourage, a few music videos, and about 180 megs of music. This puppy is great at the plasma donation center.

I really like that phone, gonna get a new one soon. Only bad thing is that it has no expandable memory.

I've got one of these things as well -- I can run it through the amp in my car which is cool.

Sound is so-so I think, but it's convenient.

I have a 20GB iPod, which I've given to a friend on loaner.

My real baby is the Creative Zen Vision 30GB model. Thing rocks!

For me, the biggest positive of this model is the fact that I can insert my Compact Flash card and transfer pics over in a few seconds, eliminating the need to tote around a laptop on travel. No worries about storing pics.

I've got a 512 mb shuffle and I had a 20 gb iPod, but it got lost when I moved in December.

Do any of you know if there is a way to trick iTunes into working with another mp3 player? It seems like the non-iPods are getting pretty good for the money, but I can't see myself giving up iTunes.
