    Lucky b*stard!

SF is by FAR the best city to live in if you're 1) filthy rich, or 2) Have a steady, well-paying job.

Great scenery, friendly people (despite what some here might say), and tons of things to do.

The Bay Area is just a great place to be...good luck with everything, and enjoy it.

Actually being originally from San Francisco, I can't stand the place. Allz I can recall were my grade school days of walking to Catholic School in the frickin' pouring rain. About the only thing I miss from San Francisco is the food (which I can get whenever I visit home). Like some mentioned beforehand, if you've got a weakness for Prime Rib, hit up House of Prime Rib for some good eats. Otherwise, give me sunny San Diego anyday.

Count me in too. I've only been there on occassion, but the song "I Left My Heart in SF" still rings true for me. It's my girlfriend's and my target destination.

Thanks everyone! I work in the medical field (MRI) and landed a really nice deal. The catch is, it's 90% more to live there than here but I will make almost triple the money, so all in all it's worth it. You only live once. I will be living in the Sunset District which I know can be blanketed in fog alot, but I cannot afford The Marina, that's like very expensive, it all is. I went to SF about 10 years ago so I know how the culture and everything kinda is. I can't wait. Thanks for everyone's help. Maybe I could persuade Baron Davis to join the Rockets.

There are sooo many hot asian women out there too. :p

Never lived there, but great to visit (open/friendly people mostly from other areas, scenery, etc). My strait friends loved living there, you do the math.

No, its not. Your favorite city is New York City. And I'll make sure it remains that way.

Congrats im sure your going to love it as SF is an awesome place to live. The weather is cool / mild all year round and the people are super nice. You will find the cost of housing (rent / purchase) and gas are higher than other places but almost everything else is comparable.

My favorite thing about San Francisco has to be the restaurants you should really check out zagat for reviews. I also know dine about town program should be starting up you may want to keep your eye out for it.

    - Dine about town is where Expensive Restaurants provide a cheaper menu for average people to be able to eat (only in Jan) its a great way to try out different foods and a great date idea.

All kinds of entertainment, tons of clubs, bars (North Beach has some great ones), and areas with character.

Haight & Ashbury to check out the Hippies, Chinatown, Japantown, Little Italy, Broadway to check out the strip clubs.

    Have a great time.

    J

Oakland gets an unfair bad rap. Parts of Oakland are really nice like around Lake Merritt and the Rockridge area. You can get most of the same Asian food in Oakland as SF for less and its easier to get out of the city to go the Sierras or up north. If I ever move back to CA I would definately want to live in the East Bay than in SF.
