According to the rumors from Hoopshype, Marcus Banks is seeking the MLE for five years. I rememeber last season he had a pretty good game aganist the rockets, Wondering if he would be a good fit. Link:http://www.hoopshype.com/rumors.htm Just scroll down to that part.
Sure. I don't see why not. Mike James with the MLE. Matt Harpring with the 4.2 TE. Matt Harpring and Shane Battier are as blue collar as they get, having them on court with Yao and Mcgrady should make the Rockets a highly efficient team that gets the most out of every single possession.
The marcus banks who played for the Twolves for the second half of last year is worth the full MLE. The marcus banks from the two and a half years before that who played for Boston.... err, not so much. So which marcus banks will show up after he signs a long-term contract? Pass.
1. Hoopshype is allways wrong. 2. never sign a guy to a big contract after the only productive season (in this case, half season) of thier career. 3. IMO he's too unproven to take a chance on this summer.
1. Hoopshype only grabs snippets from other media. They are just a median to look at it all in one place. 2. I would agree other than when the player showed the production once actually getting playing time, which he finally did in Minny. 3. See #2. I could see an issue if he was a player who was getting consistent minutes and/or playing the same role for a few years only to balloon in the same situation in a contract year. But, this is a guy who finally got a chance to show anything last season.
all valid points. i won't argue there. however, hoopshype isn't exactly known for being a credible sourse. and... there are plenty of cases in the past of a player who gets playing time, produces, earns a big contract, and falls off the face of the earth. for example, marc jackson was a league leader in rebounding during his rookie season. signed a 6 year deal at the MLE. he never came close to being a league leader in anything ever since.
The lack of height thing wasn't much of an issue when Sura was the point guard since he was 6-5. It's when Rafer & Wesley were paired together did their collective height hurt. With T-Mac back at the 2, an average sized point shouldn't be a problem.
Gooden could be the second coming of Stro under JVG. Gooden is known to forget plays/defensive assignments. I think there was a rumour he suffers from A.D.D.
I see your point, though I had always figured Gooden to be coachable as far as Id seen in Orlando and Cleveland, however if he is as bad as Stro in terms of basketball IQ, I would agree he would be a cruddy pickup. Unfortunately, Wilcox makes Gooden look like Tex Winters.
Can we get Zach Randolph???? He is a 20-10 guy with good range for a PF. I dont know his contract so i dont know if it is possible. Plus i hear Portland doesnt want him. Can someone start a thread about this for me cuz i cant since im a rookie and CLUTCH WONT LET ME FOR SOME REASON!!!
STFU already. Stop posting this in every single damn thread. And no we can't get randolph. He's making the max. And Portland doesn't want our garbage and Randolph's not even that good.
