If all you have is a one bedroom apt's worth...Have a friend help you load it into a $50 Uhaul and drive it down yourself. Why pay all that money?

I realize there's about a 100mile difference, but when I moved from Huntsville to the mid-cities (between Dallas and Fort Worth), I started early in the morning, packed up the U-Haul and had a friend follow in my car. We drove to Euless, unloaded everything, and drove back to Huntsville in the same day. The next morning, what little I had left fit into my car and I simply drove back to Euless. It was a pretty simple process.

After reading everybody's suggestions I decided the best way to to do it is just like you guys said.

I'll just rent a uhual and get movers to load and unload the truck. All of that will probably still cost me about $700. I don't know how I expected to get all of this done in a grand with professional movers LOL.

I got some estimates and most places are charging about $1800 and that is with only 4 hours total moving time and the rest is for the drive to Houston and back.

Moving back to Houston from Dallas as well in about a month. Decided to sell my furniture. My furniture probably isn't even worth $1000. good luck moving and welcome home.
