Most NCAA teams send security into the rafters with ticket exchanges and move people down. I've never seen it at an NBA game, but if you are nice to the right person they will move you down when attendance is low. All they can say is no. So just keep on asking until someone let's you slip on down.
Too bad that security guard marked out tickets otherwise I would have acutally done it. I am not trying to get thrown out of that game. Espescially with what Francis was doing by halftime.
I have never been caught moving down. I follow a basic rule: While I'm up in the upper prom, I keep an eye out for seats that are empty. That way, when I go down there, I can go straight to that seat and won't look confused. Make it look like the seat is YOURS. Don't look around when walking down. Just go straight to the seat. IMO, I think it's unreasonable for ushers to be asking fans to move up. I know, I know, they're doing their job and yada yada yada, but I think the ushers need to be more understanding. I mean, it's so damn empty down there. Who wouldn't jump at an easy chance to get some better seats? As long as they're not sitting in someone's seat, I think it's ok. BTW, when an usher asks for your stub, can't you just say that you lost it or something? That way he must let you stay there because there's no proof that it's not your seat and he CAN'T boot you.
OK, let me get this straight, someone that was only doing his job and is not as well off as you in life, said "Hey "Amigo" you can't do that" then chuckled about it, so you got ticked off and degraded him and then possibly cost him his job?? Typical pretentious Houstonian prickmove IMO. He probably told you that because if you slipped and cracked your head open after hopping over the barrier, Compaq Center management or the Rockets could be held liable.
ah yes, the young, angry and do-something-about it youth these days...stand up for your rights!...do what you want, when you want and do not let anyone stand in your way!...especially an ABM security guy who probably has three kids to feed and is behind on his mortgage...he cannot tell us what to do...we paid for these seats...he wears a funny vest...he probably looks for these types of situations to harass us... we always have to make our point whether it is on the freeway or at the Compaq center...there are no rules...
I hope you are not referring to me? I did not argue with the guy, becuase I know he was just doing his job.
na...you cool...I am talking about the Hey Amigo dealio.... actually, it was just smack in reference to young and old and our American "do not tread on me" mentality that we sometimes have...heck, I catch myself doing it....
also, it is hard to imagine us discussing the jammin of an ABM security at a Rocket's game when another America soldier died today in Afghanastan....just some philosophical indulgence for a Friday...
This leads me to a question that has been on my mind a while. Let's say that I bought a 10 dollar seat in row 20 of the 10 dollar section, and I moved down to row 2 of the 10 dollar section. Would I be asked to move? Both seats cost 10 dollars, but one seat is much higher. I often go to games here against teams like Golden State or Miami, and there are rows of empty seats below me in the same section.
