+1 If you're a family guy, then Forget the Woodlands: you don't want your kids growing up to become spoiled and plasticized cookie-cutter clones who expect nothing less than a Merc/BMW for a HS car, overseas vacations (Cabo/Cancun for SB), designer clothes, etc. yet refuse to perform academically. It's River Oaks wannabe minus the class. Class requires maturation, personality, and cool. All of which the Woodlands, the epitome of upper-middle class suburbia, stifles effectively. Harsh generalization I know, but I speak from experience, close friends who lived there, people who know people who live there (not jealously), and we all agree. If you have kids and some money, live in the Memorial area. Memorial may be bad relative to other suburbs in terms of the criteria I used, but it's nowhere near Woodlands bad.
Sugar Land is not in Houston. It is a horrible boring place like all the other suburbs. If the OP is relatively young, there is no question he should move in close to town. Places like Sugar Land are for people with families who can't afford to live in the nice parts of Houston.
lol looking back now I guess I went a little too overboard. I'm only trying to steer away the OP from a bad place and towards the greatness that is inside the loop (if you're single)
Sugar Land/Missouri City is getting really crowded. If you move to Sugar Land make sure you're as close to 59 as possible because it can be a b**** getting there in the mornings on Highway 6.
