    Farmington is in a tough spot. Right in between Boston and New York. Which is the lower scale equivalent of being in Waco with Dallas (NYC) and Austin (BOS) on the ends. Good luck on your sentence. At least the Casinos are nearby.

    If it's any consolation, since 1960, only two major hurricanes have made direct hits in the northeast: Hurricane Gloria in 1985 (New York) and Hurricane Bob in 1991 (Rhode Island).

    According to this chart I found at NOAA's site..Connecticut has only had 8 direct hits since 1900, and only 3 of them were category 3 and stronger. That stat is misleading though, since most of the storms that hit that state were before 1960.
