Just saw The Patriot this weekend. Excellent fighting scenes, but the acting and story were just average. If you liked Braveheart, you'll like the Patriot. ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
U-571 with McConaghey is another good WWII u-boat movie. I never understood why Three Kings didn't do that well in the box office. I thought it was the best Gulf War film made yet. ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
Never missed a one. Great little series it was. ------------------ In the end there will be no judges...only witnesses to my greatness.
Oh yeah, absolutely. 1970. Donald Sutherland was Hawkeye (awesome). Elliot Gould was McIntyre. Robert Duvall was Frank Burns. They had a big football game at the end.
mc, Absolutely!! Black Sheep was one of my favs! I'm a big fan of WWII movies..Midway and Tora Tora Tora are two that I have seen probably a hundred million times! LOved ALL of the Duke's war movies....and the M.A.S.H. movie definitely rules...FAR better than the series.. I just saw the Three Kings recently...Enjoyed the hell outta that one.. Has anyone seen The Peacemaker w/Clooney?? Would that be considered a war movie? That's another one I enjoyed..(or was I just watching Nicole Kidman?) ------------------ Give It To Moochie! the patriot was very good. I like more action comedies though Rush Hour Bad Boys Independence day Those are some of my favorites.
HBO made a really good one with a "rose" in the title. they also did tuskegie army airmen. which was ok, but fliers dont interest me like sea and land. ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball http://www.hanta-force.com
OK, SO ITS OBVIOUS THAT IM NOT THE ONLY FAN OF WAR FLICKS. ANYONE INTERESTED IN TYPING UP REVIEWS OF THOSE LITTLE SEEN GEMS. especially the older ones. I THINK I HAVE SEEN ACTUALLY EVERY MOVIE LISTED, BUT IM SURE THERE ARE SOME YOUNG FANS HERE. ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball http://www.hanta-force.com
Wow! Other people who actually enjoyed The Thin Red Line. We are a rare breed indeed. ------------------ It doesn't matter if I have a signature!
The Thin Red Line was a great movie. Simply one of the best war movies I have seen so far. Saving Private Ryan was entertaining, but I don't think it was anywhere close to that one. Braveheart is one of my favorite movies...I really can't understand how the hype brought it down to being one of your least favorites, RM95. The Patriot was a HUGE disappointment. Again, I was entertained while watching most of it (except some of the cheap cliches they pulled), but while watching it I could sense it was simply not a very good flick. Sorry. ------------------ Nederland 2002 Rocketman95 on board. Check out his latest game recaps. [This message has been edited by Ace (edited December 20, 2000).]

Braveheart 5. the Patriot my top five WAR movies. btw, Has anyone else noticed this year (overall) has been one of the worst movie years in a long time. ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
How can you say that a year that had The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle is one of the worst movie years in a long time? ------------------ Houston Sports Board The Anti-Bud Adams Page
Braveheart, Gladiator, the Patriot, Platoon. Missing in Action 1-3. haha. What about the Godfather, eh? ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?
Glory Mathew Broderick learns to lead an African American unit in the Civil War. Some of the best characterization I've ever seen. Morgan Freeman plays an older man has seen the results of war. Denzel plays an ex-slave filled with hate. There is also a Carlton like character than learns the harsh world that most blacks indured at the time. I believe Cary Elves may also be an officer in the movie. ------------------ As the wise Ewok philosopher, Logray, once said, "yub yub"
Glory was definately a kick ass movie I really should have labeled this thread Epic war movies. because rambo is technically a war movie, but damn it is nothing compared to the epics ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball http://www.hanta-force.com
