Coming to America (every summer on 20vision-UPN) Robocop (every weekend on 39) Terminator (every summer on 20vision) I don't know if you guys might agree, but there are some movies that are great, and not always on regular TV, maybe just cable... I have no cable, so I have a chance to see the ones above no matter what else is playing...
Goodfellas is pretty much the only movie like that for me. Oh, and Shawshank (mostly because it's always on some channel).
I actually haven't bought certian dvds because I like it when they come on tv, and I think owning the movie would make me not care when it comes on tv. Anyone else do this?
The list is too long to post here, but a few are: Godfather 1 & 2 Goodfellas Casino Hoop Dreams One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest Eight Men Out Field of Dreams However....only on cable. I can only watch them if they are uncut and have no commercial interruptions.
Sweet, I'm not the only one who digs Urban Cowboy. FINE, FER-GIT IT! Waiting for Guffman Best in Show A Mighty Wind The Big Picture She's Having a Baby
There are some great ones in this thread that I might not have thought otherwise but are definitely on my list: Oh Brother Raising Arizona (my favorite movie of all time - so damn quotable) Big Lebowski Fargo SW III, IV, V, and VI Pulp Fiction Matrix (only the first one though) Finally burned out on LOTR trilogy Fight Club Breakfast Club Most of the more well done Superhero movies (Batman the beginning, Spiderman, X-Men etc.) Contact Garden State Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind My Bodyguard (early 80's movie) High Fidelity Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Beetlejuice Friday so many others I can't think of
The Shawshank Redemption A Few Good Men Forrest Gump Full Metal Jacket The Shining North by Northwest Vertigo GoodFellas
Arsenic and Old Lace Three Days of the Condor Dr. Strangelove Field of Dreams Independence Day Stripes Animal House Breakfast Club Hoosiers The Outlaw Josey Wales Paint Your Wagon El Dorado Strange Brew Better Off Dead and of course, Office Space
My wife is on maternity leave and she watches The 5th Element about every other day. Then again, its her favorite movie.
Old School Napoleon Dynamite Office Space The 40 year-old Virgin Forrest Gump Billy Madison Among others. I think the "dart scene" at the birthday party in Old School is quite possibly the funniest movie scene I'll see in my lifetime....
