Before viewing JFK, watch "The Men Who Killed Kennedy"...the definitive documentary on the whole deal IMO. It's a 9 part doc I saw on the History Channel. (if my memory serves me right) ...superb. Watch that and JFK drops into place like you wouldn't believe.
Royal Tenenbaums, like 3 months ago. Great movie. Watched another movie that really impressed me, but can't remember right now.
Yeah, if you're ever playing "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon", JFK and A Few Good Men are absolutely priceless. For example: Elvis Presley was in Kid Galahad with Ed Asner, who was in JFK with Kevin Bacon. Total Bacon number: 2
Remember the movie well... Only well "exposed" people can remember that movie or call it a classic
My 16 year old sister came to visit us this past weekend and she's a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan. I've never even been tempted to watch the series for some reason, just not into fantasy land movies. We watched the second one on Saturday night on Starz or some channel. Yesterday I received the limited 10 disc set for BlueRay I bought via Amazon and I cannot wait to watch it all this weekend. I'm waaay late.
Never saw lord of the rings or any classic like citizen kane . Over the last year watched royal tenenbaums , rushmore, big lebowski, pulp fiction, reservior dogs, rocky horror, and office space

I grew up on Arnold Schwarzeneggar movies, but I didn't see Commando until about a month ago. It's AWESOME. Commando was the purest, funnest "guy movie" I've seen in a long time. They don't make them like that anymore. That movie acknowledged what it was, and unashamedly went through with it. It was both a winking comedy about ridiculous action movies, and a celebration of the same thing. The plot was silly, and Arnold's acting was typically clunky. Doesn't matter. Arnold's character wasn't particularly deep, but he was a MAN who wouldn't take **** from anyone. The wish fulfillment in that movie was blatant and hilarious. God, how many action movies have the hero casually strolling through a store stuffing automatic weapons into a shopping cart? Best part of the movie: Best comeback ever.
Or I could just look at the half dozen other high-profile assassination attempts in the 10 or 15 years afterwards: angry, lonely, frustrated and failed white men, indiscreet event planners and crappy security. Pretty sure I stopped taking History seriously somewhere between Nostradamus and Pawn Truck Fishing or whatever the hell they're showing nowadays.
Thanks to the Houston related movies recommendations I got, the best surprise this year has been Paris, Texas... by far.
I saw "The Matrix" (1999) a few years after it was in theaters and wanted to kick myself that I missed it on the big screen. I first saw "Sling Blade" (1997?) only a few years ago. Great movie.
