whatever! im gonna get you was hilarious! did you ever see hollywood shuffle? i liked that one better. the part with the zombie pimps - "wheres my b****es?"
Got into this thread a little late but... That was the first thing I thought of although I thought it was "Killer Klowns From Outer Space" Yea, I love how Keanu Reeves says that line in "Point Break" - instant hilarity! How about "Popcorn"? That one was lame but to the point where you wanted to keep watching it. Ooh, another one was "Steel and Lace" - it was about this woman who gets raped by these assmunches and then they get away with it. Woman kills herself in anguish and her scientist brother (played by Bruce Davison - only recognizable name in this bomb) brings her back to life but as a robot. She later hunts down the guys that raped her and kills them one by one. It was cool how she did it as she used disguises and stuff. Plus this movie had the obligatory very annoying character in this ditzy newspaper reporter. I feel like such a loser for knowing so much about this movie.
I just wanted to say that I have the following movies in my DVD collection: Tremors I and II, The Quick and the Dead, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Beastmaster, Krull, Showdown in Little Tokyo, Big Trouble in Little China (the 2-DVD special edition), and I'm Gonna Git You Sucka!. I win.
How has Rocky Horror Picture Show not been mentioned yet? doesn't this practically define the "so bad it's good cult hit" genre. to me, there are two types of movies for this category. the low budget, zany, trying to be ridiculous movies like UHF that pull it off and become cult hits and then the unbelievably horrible unintentional comedy types. Killer Clowns from Outer Space has to be one of the best of the latter. the title has great potential and it lives up to every bit of it. i've only caught it on about twice on Sci-Fi but both times i was entranced by its crappiness. actors who were probably related to the director, cheap ass props and costumes, horrific premise but i couldn't stop watching. plus the clowns are just plain creepy. hell, clowns are just plain creepy, but these are mushy, demonic looking, blobby things that seem like they would be disgusting to touch even just on the set, much less if it was really happening. i wanna say they blow them up at the end somehow but i don't remember how. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes i think would be a good choice. and on top of having pauly shore, brendan fraser, and sean astin, didn't Encino Man also have Rose McGowan or someone semi-famous like that also? no weezin' the juice is an all time line with me and some of my friends. what about Young Einstein? or is that just bad? yahoo serious, what a name.
this deserves its own post. Tremors does not belong here (even by the cult hit standard) b/c i think it is just plain good. a premise as ridiculous as Killer Clowns, but execution a hundred times better. plenty of funny lines, some decent action, no crimes against humanity on the acting front, and then you throw in burt's reaction when the worm busts into his bunker and you hear him yell over the walkie-talkie. just an entertaining movie. even managed to spawn 3 sequels and a series. now all the sequels and the series may belong on this list, but Tremors is a good movie.
Dave was an all-around fine movie. WAB is a riotous half-movie; the second half would make it a candidate for your list, though.
The Troma movies were just good. They succeeded in doing exactly what they were going for. If they had been trying to make Blackboard Jungle, and made Nuke'em High then that would be different.
Tremors is a great flick. I submit: Joe Dirt Night of the Comet Long Kiss Goodnight and one that I watched this weekend for the nth time: Starship Troopers
I don't think I would put Hollywood Shuffle since it was intentionally meant to satirize Hollywood stereotypes for black actors so it was meant to look so bad as to be good. My favorite was homies reviewing movies.
I have the true winners of this contest....hands down. Kentucky Fried Movie Amazon Women on the Moon game over edit....tho I must admit that htown chose a damn fine example... Buckaroo Banzai was absolutely so cheesy that it was awesome.
