off topic: Sonny, I love that BTTF line in your sig... one of my favorite movie lines of all time (though I have no idea why... maybe i'm just a geek.)
It's almost as funny as the line about gravity.. "Heavy? Is there a problem with the Earth's gravity in the future?" or something like that..
Thanks Sonny, I can't wait for the IJ and SW box sets. How long does it take to edit out all the guns and replace them with walkie talkies? (South Park reference)
I have watched BTTF so many times that I am actually replacing memories in my head with BTTF lines. You know, the Kelly Bundy syndrome. I love that movie, now that I have the DVD Trilogy I am going to morph into Marty Mcfly. Speaking of funny lines - I was watching Half Baked last night and I never realized how funny this movie is. Especially Jon Stewart - the enhancement smoker - "You ever watched Scent of a Woman.... On Weeeeed????" "You ever seen the back of a 20$ bill on Weeeeed??? There is a guy in the bushes, does he have a gun? I don't know. Red Team Red Team go go!"
Marty McFly: Wait a minute, Doc, are you trying to tell me that my mother has got the hots for me? Dr. Emmett "Doc" L. Brown: Precisely. Marty McFly: Whoa, this is heavy. Dr. Emmett "Doc" L. Brown: There's that word again; "heavy". Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull? Classic stuff! A couple of my other favorites: George McFly: Lorraine, my density has bought me to you. Lorraine Baines: What? George McFly: Oh, what I meant to say was... Lorraine Baines: Wait a minute, don't I know you from somewhere? George McFly: Yes! Yes! I'm George, George McFly! I'm your density. I mean... your destiny. and [1955 Doc is watching a video of 1985 Doc] Dr. Emmett "Doc" L. Brown: What on Earth's this thing I'm wearing? Marty McFly: Ah, this, this is a radiation suit. Dr. Emmett "Doc" L. Brown: Radiation suit? Of course, because of all the fallout from the atomic wars! and Marty McFly: Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean? Dr. Emmett "Doc" L. Brown: The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style? and Dr. Emmett "Doc" L. Brown: Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads. and Marty McFly: Why do you keep calling me Calvin? Lorraine Baines: Calvin Klein? It's all over your underwear and one more Dr. Emmet Brown is doubting Marty McFly's story about that he is from the future Dr. Emmett Brown: Then tell me, "future boy", who is president in the United States in 1985? Marty McFly: Ronald Reagan. Dr. Emmett Brown: Ronald Reagan? The actor?! Who's Vice President? Jerry Lewis? Marty McFly: What? Dr. Emmett Brown: I suppose Jane Wyman is the first lady! And Jack Benny is secretary of the treasury! I've had enough practical jokes for one evening! Good day, future boy! and Doc Brown and Marty are hijacking a train. Doc: Reach! Engineer: Is this a holdup? Doc: It's a science experiment! Too many great lines. More here.
Man Sonny... you're making me regret returning the box set at Best Buy yesterday. I accidentally picked up the Pan and Scan version and they were out of widescreens. Guess I'll go watch "Barbershop" now instead.
How about, the line about getting uranium at the corner store in the future but in 1955, its pretty hard to come by. Great movie, never realized how many great lines there are. BTW, Does anybody like Wyatt Earp with Costner, Am I the only one?
Swingers Godfather I Big Trouble in Little China Dazed and Confused used to be on the list but I got burnt out on it.
Alien Aliens The original Star Wars trilogy Bladerunner The Shining Full metal jacket Black Hawk Down Jaws Terminator T2 Fight Club The waterboy ...I think that's it. These are movies I will watch over and over for no end.
I thought Wyatt Earp was pretty good, kinda long but good. For most people they either like Wyatt Earp or Tombstone more. ROXRAN - Good pick with "Alien(s)", I totally forgot about those movies. I would even include the third Aliens also, but part four sucked.
