    6) Transformers 3

2011 is a horrible year for movies. I saw about 3 and only Planet of the apes was worth it.

Are you kidding? 2011 was a great year for movies. I think Summer of 2012 will be far better, but I wasn't really disappointed much this year.

FYI to everyone, Tintin was a great movie.

i dont think i saw 10 movies that were released in 2011, but here is the top 10 of what i did see (i have netflix so i just dont go to theaters much anymore, unless its the alamo drafthouse and even many of those are special screening-type deals).

    1. city of god - scarface meets slumdog millionaire. if you have not seen this movie drop everything you are doing and watch it now.
    2. the protege - never even heard of this movie when it came out - amazing story - we debated/discussed it for an hour or so afterwards.
    3. black swan
    4. bridesmaids - at least thrice as funny as the hangover.
    5. en tran fantasma - band called caranga cakewalk did a live score to this mexican silent film from the 20's at the paramount theater.
    6. all the pretty horses - even though it got bad reviews i just read the book and wanted to see it - surprisingly good. billy bob is a very underrated director. very faithful to the book for a 2 hour movie too. the kid who plays jimmy blevins was spot-on - exactly how i pictured him in the book.
    7. the unforseen - documentary on development in west austin/barton creek/circle c.
    8. the men who stare at goats
    9. anvil: the story of anvil

Didn't watch a lot of movies this year

    I've watched

    Thor (pretty mediocre)
Harold and Kumar (had its moments, but the other two were better)
Transformers (don't remember much, so it's probably crap)
Fast Five (really good, only good movie I saw this year)

Paranormal activity 3 (too hammered to remember)

did you see all these movies in the theater? impressive!

out of all the ones you listed the only one ive seen is bridesmaids.

i heard warhorse is a piece of s***. less then 10 minutes of the movie is actually about war. false advertising there...should have just called the movie "horse".

I attend a few film fests a year and am lucky enough to have access to premiere movie screenings here in Austin. Of the movies listed I saw five on DVD...the rest in theaters.
