I think I would have preferred them going for it and really making the original X-Men and setting it in the 60s. This looks like it still somewhat fits the continuity of the previous movies. But so much stuff is being changed from the comics, like making Havoc way older than Cyclops when he's supposed to be the younger brother. It's annoying because Cyclops was the first X-Man and now it looks like he was part of the 2nd generation or something.
As long as Wolverine isn't in it, I would be happy. How do you make four movies about such a one-note character?
For about a Decade and a half he was the single most important character in their universe. He cause the rise of the violent 'anti hero'. Increased the popularity of guys like Ghost Rider, Punisher, Blade, etc who were not so nice nice like the standard heros . they just kind of did not write his character all that well. [but decent] none of the other characters were overly compelling [Though a NightCrawler Movie could be interesting His opening scene in XMen 2 was very good ] Rocket River

RR, you should really rent/stream "Day Trippers," where that actor (Liev Schrieber or something like that?) is really amazing. He steals the whole movie, and it's a very talented cast (Stanley Tucci, etc.)
I have seen him show up in several other movies since noting him in Wolverine. He has indeed stood out for me [Hell he was one of the better things about SALT] I put him in my underrated Actor category Rocket River
From the *trailer* it looks like it might have a story, and it looks like it has more in common with the first couple of movies. I am interested, I hate to admit.
That is Azazel, SUPPOSE TO BE Nightcrawler's dad. He and Mystique are suppose to be Nightcrawler's biological parents but the movies certainly doesn't appear to be going by that storyline unless they introduce it later in this movie.
What? Last I heard Nightcrawler's Dad was SabreTooth [ie the weird family tree of Nightcrawler and Grayden Creed being brothers while Rogue was their adopted sister] Rocket River OFF TO GOOGLE!
I'm interested, better than I was anticipating after only seeing the stills last week. I agree its a pretty weak teaser, but I'm more excited after watching it than I was before.
It has a chance too be pretty damn good based off the trailer, but I've been fooled by trailers before.
