I never read comic books, but that is exactly what Sabretooth was like in Wolverine. The movie was terrible, but I liked Sabretooth

Every X-Men movie has been extremely r****ded. Hulk, X-men, Spider-Man have all been terrible movies. And they keep ****ting these out. Amazing.

I completely agree on the above, we got such a let down on #3's...X2 stands as one of the best hero movies...(loved the whitehouse fight scene and Wolverine angle), but yeah they went too much boom boom pow without intelligence on getting details or story right.

I don't think this new movie would be worth it though.

Is it worth the pain of seeing Wolverine just for the Sabretooth or no?

You could probably skip large portions of the movie without it making any difference to the story, but still, probably not worth it, its an incredibly boring movie. You'd be better off just watching a couple clips on youtube.

Vaugh is an impressive director so I might give it a shot but X3 and Wolverine were just freaking horrible. Liev was good as Sabertooth but when you are surrounded by so much crap it's hard to make anything out of it.

Hell . . .The opening sequences with Wolverine and Sabretooth
going through the wars kept me thinking
OK . .THIS IS THE STORY THEY SHOULD BE TELLING
[The Intro of The General should have been the end of the 1st movie]

I had the exact same thought, best part of the whole movie.

I can only shake my head and think what could've been when it comes to some of these superhero movies. Can you imagine a Spider-Man 3 where they fleshed out the Brock/Venom storyline? Remembering back to when I was younger and read comics, the relationship between Parker and Brock was a compelling one and could have been better adapted in SM3.

I haven't seen Wolverine: Origins yet, but from everything I've heard, they squandered the great material they should have worked with, and ended up instead with a really sub-par movie.

The idea for this new X-Men movie sounds really interesting. I could envision a number of directions they could go that would be highly entertaining. Character development, investment in those characters, and a deeper motive behind the struggle between the good and bad guy (other than just the hero's obligation to stop the bad guy), are all things that the good superhero movies have done well. The relationship between Xavier and Magneto provides a good framework to accomplish these things.

    co-sign.

the 3rd installment of both series were such monumental disappointments its sickening to think about the wasted opportunity for great movies

I agree but I think the movie would have been much better had they not included Venom at all. Raimi's hand was forced anyways. Sandman was the most intriguing character of the film but his character was never fully explored. Nor was the strained relationship between Peter and Harry. They could have done so much more with those storylines but couldn't because Venom was thrown in for no good reason.

And X3 ...where to begin with that train wreck. Both films are a great example of what happens when a franchise has too much studio involvement.

....and unfortunately the counter argument from the studios would be : look at how much money we made, somebody must of liked it

Are they doing a reboot (like Batman Begins)? The XMO:Wolverine was vomit inducing and X3 was way worse. time to start over

I hated the fact that wolverine was not a killing machine in that movie.

What? There wasn't one in the comiics. Brock may have had the lamest motivation and backstory of any Spider-Man villain not named Carnage. Honestly, "Spider-man exposed the real sin-eater and now I hate him?" That's horrible. The symbiote had much more of a relationshp with Peter than Brock did. This is one area that the otherwise terrible Spider-Man 3 actually bests the comics at, just not to the extent that other adaptations like Spider-man TAS and Spectacular Spriderman-man did (especially the latter).

Why is everything so backwards with the X Men movies coming out?

They started off well with the Trilogy, now they're just skipping around from beginning of hero's stories to beginning. I guess that's just Fox.

And that was lame what they did to Deadpool.
