The trailer is just plain bad IMO. I tried to get my brother to go see the movie with me yesterday but the trailer stunk so bad we both decided against it. The movie looks kind of like "Contagion" with zombies you can't make out because they are always moving so fast. I don't see this film being as good as "28 Days Later" but I will be happy to see it when it is out as a rental. At least the actual movie seems better than the trailer going by the reviews here.
Just saw it yesterday. I could easily see it to be as enjoyable in non-3D since the movie makers didn't fall victim to the usual trap of adding "3D scenes" (inane and disjointed scenes designed to imply show off 3D). Instead, the 3D in this film seemed to blend in... and you really didn't seem to notice it. There was perhaps one scene early on that took full advantage (won't spoil it). Overall, I really like the movie. Noticeable was the use of no name actors (other than Pitt, of course) which to me added to the enjoyment... instead, you focused on the storyline and thought the acting was fine. Especially liked Pitt's wife and the Israeli soldier in the movie. My 14 year old daughter (who is a big zombie story fan) and my wife (who isn't, but is starting to like Walking Dead) both also loved the movie.
This movie was just ridiculous on so many levels. The action was the only thing worth watching for. The story was mediocre, and the ending was pretty lame. 6/10
I thought it was pretty good. The trailers definitely did not make me interested in watching it as it seemed like a summer action flick with no direction. But it turned out to be a good mystery thriller to find a possible solution to the zombie epidemic that takes you on a chase to many locations and putting the clues together. There's enough action to keep it entertaining and suspenseful. I'd rate it 8/10 (trailers make it look like a 5/10). Spoiler Did anyone else find it funny how they kept showing how women screw things up? First when the wife calls and causes the phone to go off at a bad time, and then the woman singing on the microphone. Also the Israeli soldier firing her pistol at a lone zombie when it could have been avoided/stealthily killed.
Just came back from watching this in 3D and thought it was a good movie. If you're into zombie movies then I think you'll enjoy it. Plenty of action throughout. But save your money and watch it in 2D instead as there aren't enough good 3D shots to warrant the extra $$.
Awesome zombie flick. Felt the ending was 'meh' but acceptable. Intense from start to finish. Worth seeing, no doubt.
My gf went ahead and saw this without me. Revenge for watching Star Trek + Superman without her. Anyone care to watch this with the Jontro?
Zombie flicks are groovy, even bad ones, and I seriously doubt that this one is bad. I'll be seeing it, for sure. I just wish I had known Brad Pitt was in Manhattan promoting it. We were a few blocks away at the time seeing Man of Steel, and didn't have a clue that he was out there shaking hands. Bummer!
It's OK doe breh, she saw it with an ex-roomate of hers (a friend as well). Now if she were to "cheat" on me and go lesb with her, I could fap to the thought of that.
It was ok. But being a fan of the book the whole time I was thinking "Man, Kathryn Bigelow would've knocked this outta the park."
