    Did y'all see the ads for Warcraft on the conference finals games? Pretty short, but the movie
    has also had good reviews from critics and fan screening.

    I will probably go see it, but not until it has been out a little while. I want to minimize the dumbass factor of people hollering stuff like "For the Horde" in the middle of the movie. Since I will be out of school I will probably catch it early one day in the middle of the week.

    Disclosure: I have never played WoW in my life.

    I am the casual moviegoer the makers of this film desperately need in order to become a profitable franchise. So far I'm not sure what to think of this movie. I admit I like fantasy genre and epic films but this feels like neither. It looks like polished cut scenes from a big budget video game, which in fact is what it is.

    All my friends are chatting about this film, yet I don't know how to take it.

    I most likely won't see this film until bluray and was wondering if anyone else here felt the same?

    Explain, if I may ask.

    But as the casual movie goer, I would just, if I was in your shoes, wait until more reviews come out. If positive reviews, I would go see it, because fantasy movies on the big screen are much more aesthetically appealing, not something that can be replaced by a blueray.

    Bad reviews? Well, don't waste your money then.

    At some point hopefully people will realize it is based off of Warcraft, not WoW.

    So for the uninitiated like me, the trailer does nothing to explain who these human and orc characters are and why I should care to watch them fight massive CGI battles one after another, which is fine in the realm of video games cause you are immersed in the action, but in movies you need to understand the basic conflict to draw you in. For example, I had never read the LOTR before the movie, but the trailer made sense and did a good job of setting up the premise and what everyone was fighting for.

    True, but I also remember the 48 fps headache and nausea inducing nightmare that was the Hobbit.

    Um, I realize what it's based off of. I just never played Warcraft, I played Starcraft and WoW. WoW is based in the same universe.

    That doesn't mean the movie looks good.
