story was good for the common person who has never seen it . its more of a drama but it kept me on the edge of my seat even though we all know the outcome.

as far as your number 2, yea they risked everything but the odds were way against them.

your going against your own country the most organized and one of the most powerful and intelligent armies known to man at the time. not only that but your doing it in their capital city??? Yea hard plot to come from

    great thriller i recommend it.

Why over dramaticize such an important story with Tom Cruise in the lead? Seriously, could they have not found a better actor with a messiah complex?

There are better movie examples of German resistance. This one for instance:

It is not as entertaining as movies go but it is very dramatic in its historical context.

Saw it. Thought it was good. But I am biased. I enjoy most WW2 movies.

Not every movie has to be about gun fights and explosions. It sounds like you had no idea what the movie was about and had unrealistic expectations.

See note pertaining to unrealistic expectations above.

This is a matter of personal tastes. The acting wasn't bad at all.

    What does this even mean?

We get it, you like Slumdog Millionaire. Awesome.

#1. The trailer was misleading, and I didnt go watch the movie expecting an hour of talking. Its also abvout Nazis and Germany. and I knew the story was about plotting against Hitler but the trailer shows nothing but soldiers, explosions. Misleading isnt it?
#2. I dont see anything about unrealistic expectations. Why dont you just quote it for me if your trying to prove a point?
#3. The acting was bad for Tom Cruise. If you read my earlier posts, you can deduct that he was the only one I was not satisfied in the acting.
#4. It means the movie didnt mesh well.
#5. No, more like warning people to not watch Valkyrie and telling them to watch something else. Its junk, and I gave them my reasons.

I think tom cruise did a fine job. His problem is that he may be too big of a star for some people to suspend reality, and well some people just don't like him. as far as the role in the movie i can't really think of a reason why someone else would have made it any better.

i think it's a good rental but the most glaring problem is that most everyone knows how hitler died so the suspense just isn't as high as it could be. they do a decent job of building what suspense they can anyways. If you watch without prior knowledge then I'm sure it's 10 times better.

some of the cinematography was nice though.
