Bruce Boxleitner Returning for Tron 2.0 Bruce Boxleitner Returning for Tron 2.0 Source: Brian December 23, 2008 Bruce Boxleitner, who played Alan Bradley and the title character in Walt Disney Pictures' 1982 film Tron, is currently filming a role for the studio's upcoming Tron 2.0. He joins fellow original cast member Jeff Bridges and newcomers Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett in the anticipated action-adventure. In the original, hacker/arcade owner Kevin Flynn (Bridges) is digitally broken down into a data stream by a villainous software pirate known as the Master Control Program (MCP) and reconstituted into the internal, 3-D graphical world of computers. It is there, in the ultimate blazingly colorful, geometrically intense landscapes of cyberspace, that Flynn joins forces with Tron (Boxleitner) to outmaneuver the MCP that holds them captive in the equivalent of a gigantic, infinitely challenging computer game. Though plot details are being kept under wraps, it is know that the new movie will act as the "next chapter." Wilde will play a worker in the virtual world who tries to help fight Master Control Program, while Garrett will play a siren in the virtual world.
Just saw this. Movie was amazing. It was graphically stunning while at the same time being compelling with its story. The special effects are awesome. I definitely recommend anyone who was debating whether to see this to go ahead and take the plunge and go watch it.
Since that orginal trailer it has gone through a major boost.... I can not wait to see it......in the car ride home we got in a discussion and both my boys wanted to see it and so did I.....my wife was like "Nah, not so much"... I leaned in and whispered...."That is because you have the wrong genetalia" DD
And she was laughing appropriately......yep......we kid around a lot, probably why we are still married after 16 years of marriage and 21 years together overall. Sense of humor is important. DD
Swoly tries to joke around with his wife but she mainly laughs at the contorted faces he makes at the end of the joke.
Were you at the Edwards Marq*e last night? I went to the screening there. Somehow, despite it coming out when I was a kid, I never saw the first Tron. So I watched that yesterday morning, then saw the new one. I really liked it... very well done visually and a good story. I'll wait until after it is released to talk about it.
I cannot confirm, nor deny. What do you look like Clutch? I've always imagine you to have this enormous head and enormous waistline with blue skin and super black eyes. Yeah I watched original recently too so I'd have a little basis for the movie. Was glad I did. I've always liked Bruce Boxlighter (I know lol). Was surprised by the story as I was told it was crappy.
Very excited about this. Planning on being there early afternoon Friday. Just watched the original a few months ago to refresh myself. Some of the computer stuff they come up with cracks me up, but overall it was interesting. I'll be curious to see what direction the new one goes.
I, like DD's wife, have the wrong "parts" for this movie, but I admit to watching and liking the original. I'm not planning to see this in the theatre, but the trailers look really good. (and I get to see Bruce in them too!!)
Cant wait for this on friday definitely will be seeing this one... California Adventure had a whole Tron thing the last month and a night show now called elecTRONica as well its pretty cool.
Saw it in IMAX 3D this morning. Beautiful movie. If you wait to watch it at home, you'll be cheating yourself.
Wonderful looking movie but story is garbage, complicated and simplistic at the same time, and the acting is borderline laughable. Its a very good looking movie, esp in 3D, but it's kind of a bear to watch at just over 2 hours.
