i actually have the Nemesis Prime action figure that they sold at comic con three years ago its pretty sweet. It would have made more sense to have Nova Prime in place of Sentinel given the circumstances but I think everything played out well Spoiler not sure what they could have really done with that...they could have called the ship Omega but then it would have upset fans that Omega was just a ship and not a transformer. If they made it a true Omega it may have been a bit too much for the general public and the "realistic" approach Bay used for the film. If Omega was a transformer in the films he'd dwarf Optimus and probably entire cities and be unstoppable. Omega could have easily just walked into chicago and destroyed the building that housed the 5 main space bridge pillars. I've accepted that there are some parts to the transformers universe that will never make it to a live-action movie (dinobots for one) If anything I wish they could maybe release some new animated features -- not from the new transformer series -- but from the original series much like the 86 feature film where they could really maybe explain the war on cybertron before leaving for earth
There were probably just about 30-40 minutes of mindless enjoyable stuff in the film, they could have easily just shown me those parts and I would have gotten the same out of this movie.

Light cussing in the movie and obviously gay german bodyguards. Also, is your 8 year old to bad acting?
no more 3D for me... 2 hours into the movie... during the unnecessarily long action sequence, while yawning, I felt like a damn vein was going to pop on my forehead...
A great end to the trilogy. In fact the second doesn't even exist to me anymore. A little slow in the beginning and the slap-stick humor is still there (although drastically reduced), but the story (of the thin one that exists) isn't too shabby and the last hour is all out robot carnage. I think it could have used one long action sequence somewhere in the first act, because there was a little too much human-story and not enough transformers. But that's my only real complaint. John Turturo was actually palatable this time. John Malkovich's character, while useless, was fairly funny. Rosie >> Megan. I thought the NASCAR transformers was a nice touch, as a casual fan. I like how the robots have gotten more and more screen time over the course of the three movies. And hopefully whoever takes over the reigns from here on out, will give us movies where the transformers are front and center, and the human characters are in supporting roles. Maybe skip ahead hundreds of years and go all out with the sci-fi aspect of it.
I thought it was the best of the three and agree with most that the reduced humor and increased robot violence was ideal. My only problem with the serious was the lack of autobots that appeared. The decepticons had numerous great additions as each movie went on. Soundwave, Shockwave, Devastator and Fallen were all legendary characters they added while the autobots got the twins, wreckers and wheelie??? I thought this would have been the ideal scenario to bring in Rodimus Prime, Ultra Magnus and the Dinobots but so be it.
As per the Transformers Live Movie Blog Ultra Magnus almost made it into the movie. They have some evidence to back this up as well. As per that blog after some bad test screenings his character was repurposed into Sentinel Prime. Another little claim they make is that "the head of what would have been Ultra Magnus was re-used as what the Apollo 11 astronauts step on and uncover as they explore the ship." If you want to see the evidence they present click on the link provided above. The evidence comes in the form of leaked call sheets from back in July.
Saw the movie today, I am a casual fan of transformers, not a fanboy by any means. Some parts I felt were stupid with Rosie. I also found it annoying how Optimus just kinda dissapeared for large chunks and then just happened to show up. Would have preferred for them to retain Megan Fox. The whole slow-mo punch thing got old after a while. Also there were parts of the movie where they tried to make links to previous scenes in the movie that moved a little too fast.
Those railtracks weren't part of their ship, you were thinking of this thing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crawler-transporter
What a terrible movie. If I was hasbro I would fire Michael bay. They should just finance the movie themselves and cut the studios out. The stars of the movies are the transformers not the humans. I have rewatched the cartoons on dvd and they are pretty bad watching it now days, but I always thought Megatron and shockwave were pretty cool and we barely see them, and they seem to completely get rid of the whole starscream megatron thing.
Yeah I'm not sittin for 3 hrs at a popcorn summer flick.... 90 mins tops for me... This is a funny review.... http://comedyfilmnerds.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=397:transformers-3-dark-of-the-moon-review&catid=1:in-theaters&Itemid=33

Don't know what point he's trying to prove. I saw some shots that bore similarities to Armageddon myself. But you're gonna have similarities among a director, any director's, work. Bay's not an exception.
Reusing stock footage is a common practice for the Movie and Tv industries. All the major studios and networks have massive libraries of this stuff at their disposal that is used all the time. More times than not within the movies industry you see it in generic action sequences such as this or with the more common use of that being 360 degrees panoramic shots of city/country or some other type of shot used within a town or city or some other type of object. Heck you even see it used in animation movies as well to a certain degree. As for the reason of this particular usage who knows most of the time it is about money but in this case this might be the particular scene in which that extra almost got decapitated in her car during the filming of this movie last year. I could definitely see them scrapping that scene due to that gruesome accident and them going with stock footage to replace it instead. Oddly enough this isn't the first time someone tried to make a big deal out of this with a Bay film as shortly after "Revenge of the Fallen" debuted someone posted a video that revealed he used a generic shot from "Pearl Harbor" that showed several war ships in convoy together from a panoramic view with the first Transformers movie as well. He mixed that footage in with the ending to show a close up of the US Navy's fleet. With that said I wonder if this is going to become a common practice from here on out with Michael Bay action movies as he seems to be an easy target with all the "Bay Haters" out there (as they are called) and the easy and expected reaction that they have always provided to this type of thing?
I hated #2 and generally dislike Michael Bay, but I was a fan of this film. Very entertaining. I also really liked the replacement of Fox.
I wasn't trying to prove anything, it just caught me off guard that footage would be rehashed like that. I figure they'd use the same ideas etc at times, but exact stunts etc. Stuff I normally recognize as being re used are sound effects, especially of people yelling or screaming. I've noticed the same sounds used across movies and video games....
