I believe he's refering to the lack of lower body.. it's almost as if it ceased development at the age of 13..
The movie was pretty stupid, but it should definitely win an oscar for visual effects and sound. Michael bay makes the best explosions.
I had the same reaction. She may be skanky, but my oh my...she looks like she was built from scratch by a team of "hot chick" experts or something. Sure, I could do without the tattoos, but that's like saying I would have preferred that Hakeem shoot 80% from the line.
2.5 hour action fest, too much action, not enough story. Though the first one was pretty much the same. If you liked the first one you'll like the 2nd one. It's the same movie with the same plot but with more explosions and fighting. Overall 6.8/10. Not a bad movie but would have been better had it had a great story to complement the action(like TDK)
On the contrary, hot chick experts knew not to include perfect hips, as an absolute, 100% flawless woman would create a force so powerful that it would destroy all life on Earth.
Sorry but I don't find her all that attractive She looks. . . generic he has that 'constantly' wet slutty thing going on . . but so did the other chick Spoiler Robot rip off from T3 chick/Species chick BTW that portion of the movie was just plain stupid I started thinking I was watching Screamers Rocket River
I watched it today and although I think it was pretty bad I'm still glad I gave it a shot. Pros: -New Robots are always good -Optimus Prime's character -Megan Fox is smoking hot beyond comprehension -Tons of action -Shia Lebeouf is perfect in his role (can do funny and serious) Cons: -The humor was horrible. If it isn't robots acting like white kids who wish they were black it's John Turturo commenting on a giant robot's balls. And for some reason they decided to give Sam's mom all sorts of screen time and stupid dialogue. -You can't tell which robot is which (especially in the fight scenes). It got to the point where I just sort of zoned out during the fights because I would strain my eyes trying to see what was happening. -Megan Fox is just too hot and too perfectly groomed/made up to be believable. -Storyline and script seemed a bit like several different people wrote a complete screenplay alone and then just mixed and matched all of their work at the end. There is no continuity and the dialogue goes from something a 6th grader would write to something super serious and worldly. I give this movie 5.5 out of 10 stars. If you're under 40 its your duty as a man to watch it but understand that you should only focus on Megan Fox and the special effects.
Starscream always challenged Magatron here are some examples. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nweNm43sjuk&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nweNm43sjuk&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/aIb5SOBAU4U&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/aIb5SOBAU4U&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xcx8IAZU80Q&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xcx8IAZU80Q&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Went and saw this today, 4 days after it came out here and still had to wait for 40 minutes to get our tickets and it was a packed cinema, the only other time I have seen something like that in our small city was when Return of the King came out. Anyways thought the movie was great for what it was, I must say Bay does seem like a 12 year old at times with some things he puts in movies(like the dogs humping). But it was great really enjoyed it and why people listen to critics is beyond me, these douches will rate some 100k bugget arty French film 5 stars and something that may not be the greatest acting and story line but is just an epic 2 and a bit hours of fun one star.
I think if you're like myself and didn't particularly care for the 1st one, you're probably not going to be all "ZOMG 11/10 Movie of the Year!!1!". I guess I can be somewhat of a movie snob at times, but I'm no critic. I still consider myself a fan. I tried to like this, but the movie seriously made me dislike Michael Bay for bastardizing one of my favorite childhood cartoons. Kind of torn on Megan Fox, too. I think she's pretty in a coked-out, "**** me hard" kind of way, but it doesn't look like she has any ass. I'm also glad they covered up her ugly ass tattoos in the movie too. And did anybody else think of muting the sound on the video that v3.0 posted?
I've seen this movie four times in sold out cinemas and each time the crowd was laughing it up - hard. I liked the first movie and went in looking to enjoy some action and nothing more - and i didn't walk away disappointed at all. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I think Bay has done what he set out to do - drag in the demographic of people who enjoyed the cartoons as a kid. And to also hook the people who didn't watch the cartoons. The only 'problem' i had with the movie was Devastator. I loved me some Constructicons in the cartoons and i felt a little let down that he made a somewhat of a large appearance towards the end - yet was done - in a matter of seconds. That and Blackout was rarely in this one at all. A lot of negativity has been made from the board about the humor but over here in Australia - it's been well received. At least where i'm from.
I think the main disappointment about the humor was that it was crude and done mainly for shock value, which the USA gets over-exposed with due to all these crappy comedies that come with disclaimers nowadays. Transformers 1 had more situational comedy that was slightly clever for Bay and wasn't crude, which I felt was better and more appropriate for Transformers. Sam's parents had no significance to the story, and his mom was disgusting. The college plot could've been done in 5 minutes without Leo who was annoying. They could've found a better way to introduce Turturro. Then again, my main gripe is with the humans who I found dominated the plot. The humping (dogs and Wheelie) was unnecessary and the slang of the Transformers (Skids, Mudflap, and Wheelie) didn't fit. I still enjoyed it for the Transformers themselves, but the movie could've been cut by an hour if they got rid of all the crap in it.
looks like the reviews didnt stop people from going to see it link not too bad just fell short of batman's 5 day record by a couple of million, but still set other records nonetheless
Transformers did well but it won't have the legs TDK did. TDK was ruling well into its 3rd and 4th weeks. Transformers will most likely have one more good week before it falters.
I liked Transformer for what it was, an action movie with cool robots. Transformer II is exactly like the 1st one. Still no story, same old robots. Same old actors who can barely act. New actors whose roles are not needed or stupid beyond comprehension. A lot more fighting and explosion and a lot more crude jokes that can only be appreciated by 16 yr old. I don't see why people flock to see this movie but turned away from Terminator 4.
I know I'm late to the party but just saw this last night and had to say, as someone who liked the first one.... This movie was terrible. For a movie that stretches 2.5 hours long, it has absolutely no plot and the movie just ends. Why did the parents have to be in Egypt at the end? The humor, as everyone else has said, was terrible. I can see why, even though Megan Fox is one of the hottest girls alive, she isn't more famous, cuz her acting sucks. But my biggest gripe was that, even though the action was cool and so much cool stuff was going on, you become numb to it after the 6000th explosion. I feel like if they took out a good half of the explosion and over the top fights it would be more affecting and I would actually CARE more. By the end of the movie I didn't really even care. I heard the story was written very quickly because of the writer's strike--and it shows. Plot devices seemed rushed and very convenient to the story, and it was never really in doubt to where things were going. Maybe I'm asking too much of Transformers and Michael Bay. But it was disappointing to me. I would also like to point out that apparently Michael Bay has never smoked weed, because the way Sam's mom acts after eating a pot brownie is not how anybody alive acts when they're high.
Exactly. I loved the movie even though it was all action/not that much of a plot. That being said though, I didn't pay anything out of the ordinary to see it. $6 at Tinseltown 290 for a nice action/scifi flick works fine by me. I'd of probably been irritated if I'd pay $9/$10 to see it or $13 for imax, but I didn't and I enjoyed it as well.
