Why they hell do people want development from the "human side" anyway the movies are about the ROBOTS! just stare at megan fox at her development ( o )( o )
Offical Box Office for Wednesday is now out: $60.6 million dollars. Source: RECORD-SMASHING WEDNESDAY! 2ND BIGGEST SINGLE DAY GROSS IN HISTORY! $60.6M For 'Transformers 2' Breaks 'Harry Potter 5' Wednesday Record! Single Day Is 2nd Only To 'Dark Knight'!
I saw it this afternoon. I'm not really into Transformers. I hate the movie experience. I hate people. I hate teens, so there were none of that. Thanks. Anyhoo, the best part of the movie was when Megan said my name. she said it twice. the second time, she said it nice and slow. Kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam Shaft. I high fived everyone i went with. Now I have to find that part online. Also, that movie was too long. It may have been that I wanted to watch the draft tonight also.
Ok saw it tonight. First thing though...District 9 and Harry Potter are gonna rock. Transformers... good, but not great....I think it falls a little short of the first film. The framework is much the same...only it's on a more massive scale. So the things that the first did right, Revenge of the Fallen did even better this time. There are more robots and they have personalities and a little more depth, Optimus (and all the Autobots for that matter) is much more of a bad ass, more explosions, more military power, etc. However, the mistakes the first film made are magnified here. A little humor is fine, but by the end of the film it became way too much to the point that it started to destroy the seriousness of the moment. And like the first film, there was a subplot that almost completely destroyed the tension of the climactic battle. And there were characters that served hardly any purpose. Plus, while there were more robots this time, I don't think they got any more screen time than the last movie. The focus was still on the human characters, and this time, it just fell flat. There was really only one moment I felt connected to any of the humans, and it came towards the end in an exchange between Sam and his father. Plus, Sam got into a number of situations that no human could possibly survive...despite it being an action movie you got to draw the line somewhere. I didn't think the movie was too long. Like any action film, when the explosions stop, it's starts to drag. This is no different. And don't believe the critics, it's not really headache inducing, it's not wall to wall action, every shot is not of Meg Fox bouncing up and down and it's certainly not the worst movie of the year. If everything else was completely abysmal, Prime's fight in the beginning would still be worth the price of admission. But they need to stop making the same mistakes. I love that the robots have more personalities this time. But next film, please, please, shift the focus to the transformers. I think it was painfully obvious in this film that Sam and Mikaela's storyline can't go much further than it already has. So the humans need to become secondary characters. If that had happened here, I'm sure we would have seen much more of RC, the Corvette autobot (who was such a blip that I can't remember his name or even him transforming) and Devastator (who's appearance was underwhelming). About Mudflap and Skids...I didn't have too much of a problem with them, though it would have been nice to see a little seriousness from them when things got intense. And people who found them to be racist maybe should stop looking for racism in everything. The "reading" comment was not offensive. Don't think they were implying they were illiterate....just that they couldn't read an ancient alien language (none of the robots could except for one). Anyways, one other thing I did like about the movie is it seemed to resemble the show much more. The banter between Megatron and Starscream was priceless. The story was a little preposterous and there were some cheesy moments, exactly like the cartoon. But I do think Micheal Bay needs to be reigned in a bit, if he comes back. So for the next one...a little less humor, less human and more robot screen time and cut out the pointless subplots. Don't believe the hype...it's not horrible...although it's not exactly great.
Just saw it at IMAX. The movie was good, but seems like they maded Megatron more weaker in this one. There's alil too much corny jokes. Overall it was pretty good, but not sure if it will top 400million
Meh, it was a good summer popcorn blockbuster. I watched it for IMAX as well as its amazing sound experience. But 2.5 hours of non-stop action is just overkill. And the Fallen was an extremely disappointing villain since he was so anticlimactic. For some reason, the scenes of Megan Fox in this were even more out of place and untactful than the first film. Add to this the dog-humping humor, ghetto black twins, butt-crack shock scene, and the Devastator's dangling balls - all of which shamelessly catered to the lowest common denominator. It was surreal observing some of the audience reactions to the above: like a mix between the game show in Requiem for a Dream and Idiocracy.
Flash game movie tie in. Pretty fun for a while. the second time i played the game i got 442,000. and that will be the last time i play that game. dang it took forever
Loved the movie was pissed that they did the whole 1986 thing with Optimas but they fixed before the end. I also don't like how they made Starscream such a puss. He should be getting into arguments with Megatron and chanellging his authority.
Starscream was always a puss, he would scheme in the background but be a total coward if confronted by Megatron in the cartoon, actually liked the way they worked it in the film.
Think the hating teens, hating people and general experience of going to a movie kind of happens as you get older. I can't go see a movie at night anymore, i end up more pissed off than anything for that same reason. Pretty much take in all my movies first showing Sat. morning or if I do go at night head to the studio movie grill which has a much smaller portion of teens.
It's kind of funny watching everybody involved with this movie try to pass the buck on the "minstrel" bots. A gold tooth on a robot, are you serious Michael Bay?
I saw it, and I didn't like it at all. Overly long, some stupid unfunny jokes (The twins...oh god), too many perverted jokes, the action sequences were terrible and had way too much shaky camera and you couldn't tell what was going on, it got really boring once they got to the desert, etc. It had some nice CG though and it did make me laugh at times and it had Megan Fox Its like a 4/10
I took the kids today...I liked it, good action, but too many curse words for something I took the kids to see...corny, sure, but c'mon, the first one was that way too... Megan Fox is still hot...the college chick, eh...
i agree. i went with my 6 year old and he kept saying "oh my gosh, did you hear that daddy?" we showed up at 615 for a 730 imax showing at silverado on 249, and we sat in front row of second level. it was that thick in there. you can drink beer in there, so people kept passing us to use the restroom, since the movie was so long. f-ing annoying. i actually liked the movie and my boy loves jetfire, who doesn't. took pics in front of the yellow camaro outside. did anyone stay after the credits? did we miss anything?
