sweet you want to take your buddy too???? someone hooked me up with a pass for the 22nd screening but i can always pass that along to someone else you know pay it forward
Darn I forgot to check this thread lol, but it was a private screening so I couldn't take anyone. Then again, when I got there nobody was checking identitites, so anybody could've went in. Had I known, I would've def. invited others. Ok, so now that I just got back home and caught my breaths back, here's my impressions: The good: great fight scenes, lots of fight scenes, lots of explosions, lots of robot actions, lovable Decepticons, Optimus Prime kicking butt, Up-to-date humor, Megan Fox, Isabel Lucas The bad: too long so some parts of plot is dragged on. Didn't like the sappy stuff between Shia and Megan. Not enough Ratchet, Ironhide, etc. The verdict: Better than the first one, must see if you like explosions
Looks like there is an update- Bay was merely talking about taking a brief vacation/break from this type of film, its so much work.. With the majority of his films being with his signature Visual/ Audio/ Stimulus On Acid Overload has finally caught up to him and burned him out. Anyways, to me he can't say he has done all he can do with TF until and unless we see UNICRON .....
Yeah I was thinking that myself. It's like Chris Nolan leaving Batman at it's peak. Sure the films take a lot out of them to make, but you know deep down they can't walk just walk away. Skewer me all you want, but I think Michael Bay is a rather perfect fit for Transformers. This franchise needs a director that knows how to handle vast quantities of explosions on a mega budget scale.
going to see this tomorrow, cant wait. its already showing here in england. btw speaking of transformers, came across a pic of artest with megan fox. she looks plastic
I think I'll be going to the premier for this movie, it looks really good... Wednesday - 12 midnight... Woo!
Why don't you just stick to the cartoon? That thing look like a POS...Do you even understand why change are needed to be made from cartoons to movies? That's why I hate about some fanboys. They need to stick to their cartoons.
got my imax ticket for 845 wed morning was offered a ticket for like 20 bucks for the screening tonight at the LA Film Fest, which was well under the face value, but there are playing it at a theater I absolutely loathe and promise myself I would never see another movie there again. (yeah I can be a theater snob)
The movie's down to 27% on rottentomatoes. Now normally I don't really care too much about what the critics think, especially regarding a popcorn flick. But even the first managed to get close to 50%. The general consensus is that it has less plot, more robots, more action and more movie; it's overkill. So my theory is that the people that hated the first hate the sequel even more, those that were on the line after the first film are now in the haters camp, and those that loved the first loved the second just as much, if not more. That's what I'm hoping anyways. What has me worried though is one review I've read said all the annoying things in the first me movie have been magnified in this one. Guess I'll see soon enough.
What was annoying about the first one? Honestly, I'm tired of these ******* critics.... these types of movies aren't really for them. I'd really focus generally on the RT community... right now its at 68%... the first movie was close to 80%... I think that's good enough to go and make a trip to the theater tonight to watch it. The next good movie doesn't come out until next next friday... 7/1.. which is Public Enemies.
It was a cartoon designed to sell toys. If you don't go in there for eye candy and big explosion than what is the point.
Exactly, which is why I'm not paying too much attention to it...but it seems it's getting much more negative reviews than the first. Of the annoying things...for me the only thing that I truly hated in the first movie was John Turturo; I thought he was out of place.
