Saw it. A little cheesy with some corn on the side. Spoiler What was the whole purpose of those 4 little viking sidekicks if they didn't contribute much to the movie? Barely got any action out of them and the movie wouldn't have changed much had they been excluded. I'd give it a 6.5/10. Would rate it lower but I'm a sucker for superhero movie and Natalie and Kat are hot as always. Wish Kat had more scenes... preferably nude. So, which member of the Avengers made a cameo? I guess I must have missed it. And where was Dr. Strange's Eye?
Spoiler It was Hawkeye..... He was the guy who was aiming an arrow at Thor as he tried to reclaim his hammer from the crater. Follow this link: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/MarvelFreshman/news/?a=36260
I think The Avengers should absorb Heimdall into the team. He alone could probably take out Hawkeye and easily equal Capt or better.
Who the heck drives an acura to the desert. Maybe I need an acura. I am also going to buy some golean cereal.
I thought the movie was good for what it was, a good popcorn flick, expecting a deep plot or intense acting isn't what this movie was about. However I didn't like how they ended it, seemed like they rushed to end it.
I originally thought this movie would be crap. Then, I saw the RT reviews and got my hopes up. I just saw Thor this afternoon and it fell somewhere in the middle but closer to the crap. I should have waited for the DVD but it was a decent flick.
So after that ending.. Spoiler I'm guessing that Loki is going to be one of the bad guys in the Avengers? I can't imagine who else would be. They neutralized all the bad guys from Hulk and Iron man.
What is that thing in Marvel lore anyways? I'm pretty much just an X-Men guy when it comes to this stuff.
I liked it, kept to the source material pretty much and was fun. I grade comic book flicks on a curve since they really aren't meant to be taking as cinematic masterpieces. As for the villians in Avengers, Loki is one, I can see Red Skull, it could be a nice way to introduce the Mandarin or even go back and bring in The Leader since he was created at the end of the Hulk. There has to be a teamup of some sort because Loki by himself isn't enough of a challenge to the Avengers.
Cosmic Cube...it's a Cap America thing with Red Skull usually but has shown up a few different places. Not much of a Marvel guy outside of Hulk and X-Men but I do remember it from a few different Cap America storylines.
I'll go with what Latino Review published back in March when they revealed that Spoiler Loki would be the main villian in the Avengers. They also went onto say that he would use the cosmic cube to bring the Skrulls into the picture thus causing a need for the heroes to unite. Here is the link to that info: Exclusive: We Know Who The Bad Guys Are In 'The Avengers'
For what it was, it was pretty good. Didn't really like the Natalie Portman angle though. Really seemed pushed. I know there has to be a love interest but she falls in love with him in what seems two days......meh, alright. And I wonder how much it costs to do advertisement in 3d. I say that with 15 boxes of GoLean I bought after I got out of the movies. Damn there good.
Loki + Red Skull don't seem like such a formidable force when against the avengers... But I guess that's just me. Loki is seems like a spoiled sissy boy and I have yet to see the Capt America movie to see how good Red Skull is. I'm guess it must be that cube then. If only the Avengers could make a machine that could travel to an alternative universe. A DC universe and bring back Superman. The movie would end in about 5 minutes. 1 minute for the real movie and 4 minutes for bloopers.
Saw it during the weekend, it was a lot of fun, enjoyable stuff. The Earth stuff just seemed clunky along with the love interest plot. Asgard set stuff was really enjoyable.
