He still had human like features, I don't understand why he didn't feel clothes were necessary. He wore that underwear deal on occasion but not always.
well, if i had superpowers and was incredibly ripped, and had a huge cak, i would walk around nude all the time too..
I haven't seen the move yet, but at one point in the book he comments on how he's going to tell the government that he won't be wearing the whole of his suit anymore. Over time, the suit becomes less and less until he's just naked. It starts of with a full body suit and then sleeves come off and then the legs and then the torso and then it gets down to a thong before he goes naked. I think it's supposed to show how as more and more time goes by, he cares less and less about the things normal humans care about.
I read the graphic novel a few months back, and saw the movie Friday. I really liked the movie, specially how closely it followed to the source material. They did have to cut out some things that disappointed me, but considering its the "unfilmable book", I think they did a good job.
i loved the graphic novel and saw the movie earlier today and i think it did a great job following the book as much as it could. of course there were a lot of things that had to be left out (like all the story line with the newspaper salesman and the parallel comic and the new frontier newspaper) but overall i was very impressed with the movie hopefully i can catch a show at an imax screen when the crowds die down out here edit: man rorshsarch is such a bad ass....one of my favorite lines in the book and in the movie was "don't you understand? I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me!"
was he doing her? or was he going down on her or what? It seemed to me he was just pleasing her with his hands by sending the electricity on his fingertips but the way the arms were positioned i would have guessed he was just touching her with his fingers and not actually penetrating her or slobberin on that vag...a thought?
Not at all, I thought the intro with Dylan pretty much sold the whole movie. I think they wanted to integrate the story as much into the (alternate) real world as possible; using songs from the era probably made sense.
Ugh, does it matter? You kind of went into too much detail there. I think he was just giving her a *** dream, lol.
When I was reading it, I thought the name sounded familiar but I never connected it to being a real person or event.
I'm sure I'm oversimplifying; but I hear this name and all I can imagine is two-and-a-half hours of xylophones.
Saw it this past weekend and I thought it was a very solid adaptation. Synder did the best he could and stayed as close to the source material as possible. I'd read it a while back but I could see how people who hadn't read it could have gotten lost or bored very easily. Wife hadn't ever read the book and she enjoyed it quite a bit. The few changes they made I felt were very effective, esp. the revised end game scenario. Negatives for me were the action first and foremost, the stylized super slow mo stuff felt really out of place. Most of the cast was very impressive, really enjoyed Jackie as Rorschack. Patrick Wilson, Billy Crudrup and Jeffrey Dean Morgan were also very solid. Malin Ackerman, not so much, think most of her stuff was pretty flat.
The awesome opening titles: <embed src="http://www.buzzcuts.com/player/player.swf" width="800" height="640" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="config=http://www.buzzcuts.com/getVideo/7196" /><img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/CIMP/Jmx*PTEyMDY2ODA*ODEyMzcmcHQ9MTIwNjY4MDU1Mjc1MyZwPTE4NzYzMiZkPSZuPQ==.jpg" /><img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/CXNID=2000002.0NXC/bT*xJmx*PTEyMzY2MTM1NTUyMTgmcHQ9MTIzNjYxMzU2MTg*MyZwPTE4OTAyMSZkPSZnPTImdD*mbz*xZWFlYjYwMzA4ZWU*NzcxODQ3Mzg4Mjk3NTc1YmRjNA==.gif" />
I never read the novel -- though I did read the wikipedia entries for it a long time before the movie came out (so I knew the entire plot and essentially what would happen from end to end). I enjoyed it, although it did seem long at times. wayyyy too much male nudity though, ugh.
