They should make alien movies using other planets than Mars in our solar system.

Looking forward to this one. For the first time I can say I read the book before seeing the movie.

    It's not an alien movie.

This makes sense. In reading the book, I was already thinking it was more of a screenplay than a novel. It's got the right pacing, and it's the perfect story length for a movie.

An astronaut knocked unconcious while trying to escape the planet during a wind storm is left for dead on Mars by his crew. He wakes up after the storm and is forced to improvise in an attempt to survive.

Haven't finished the book. I better finish it and then I can say that the book is bett r than the movie before the movie ever comes out.

Agreed with the OP that Chris Pratt might have been a better choice. But I guess he can't be in every movie.

Chris Pratt?! I guess, if the role requires him to wisecrack his way back to earth.

Very excited about the flick. B-Bob is right. The novel almost reads like a screenplay. Very visual, and very, very exciting. Damon should be good in the role, although I wouldn't have minded seeing someone a little younger. Someone like Chris Pine would have been nice. Weird, now that I think about it, to be calling Matt Damon "old" for a role. :)-

Pretty much. The character cracks jokes throughout the novel, if I remember correctly.

Matt Damon was who I pictured as being the star before I even knew a movie was being made.

He'll be excellent, but I really wish I hadn't seen Elysium recently. Lord, that was a awful flick, in my humble opinion. Not Matt's fault, of course.
