It's pretty much considered the worst movie of the year. And that is saying alot considering it's been an awful year in movies thus far. Inception will save it though..it's already being hailed one of the best in years according to critics..

Watched it, kind of annoyed by small accuracy-related things but still enjoyable. Will most likely watch the next one.

Just walked in from seeing it with my 5 year old, pretty bad cosidering all you had to do was not butcher the already great story. Just seemed thrown together, the story was forced and moved way faster than expected.
The whole weird pronounciation of Aang's("Ang" in the cartooon) name even caught my son by surprise (Sounded like "Oong")
I mean, I knew it would be hard to live up to the cartoon series and I knew they had move the story along quickly(For time sakes) but this was just bad all around.

You know how back in the OLD old days, they'd have white doods playing Indians (native americans)? Why not do the same here?

Give an Asian color to the white kids... not sure about the face tho. Hard to fake an Asian face.

    i'm a racist asian, yes.

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed like most of you who saw it. It had such great potential, coming from an awesome tv show, and having such a unique and creative idea, yet the film just wasn't what i expected. I realize that making it as great as the series was would be pretty much impossible, but it definitely could've been better than it was. I'm not saying it was terrible, but it just wasn't great. All this being said, I still will go see the next two movies when they come out, errr.... if they come out.

Finally saw this, and I have to agree. I do not understand the backlash this movie has received. I think a lot of it is just people piling on top of what the critics have already said...most of whom seem to have a deep, almost personal dislike for the director.

Don't get me wrong, it's definitely not a good movie, but worst of the past decade? Eight percent on Rotten Tomatoes? No way. Hell, I thought it was even more interesting than that piece of crap Iron Man 2.

Yeah, there was no character development, the dialogue was very bad at times, but not all bad like some seem to suggest. The acting was hit or miss.

Technically, however I thought it was masterful. Everything including the cinematography, fight choreography, costumes, computer animation, and the visualization of the avatar world, all seemed well done to me. I kind of wish MKS would just start directing films instead of writing them, like everyone wishes George Lucas would have done.

Saw the preview for that turd's new movie. It was funny in the theatre because everyone was watching with some interest, then when his name showed up there was a collective nevermind reaction.

It looked like most of the movie was going to be in an elevator so I'm guessing that the twist is that is was an escalator the whole time.

I don't what it is with that dude, but I feel the hatred for him too. I don't understand it, he's just a $#!+head. With other people I can think of why, but with him I can't.

An on-site production staff for The Last Airbender posted of her experience which brings a little insight into why the movie blew so hard... And ironically, the biggest twist is that it actually wasn't M. Night's fault!

That's very interesting. I know that sort of disrespect of the source property used to happen in Hollywood all the time prior to the late 90's but I figure the success of faithful adaptations like the Potter series, LOTR, Hunger Games, etc, that Hollywood producers would know better than to screw up beloved properties.

Weird that Shyamalan is not part of the reason it stunk, per source. I still think he could have done better with the pacing, camerawork and that bizarre narration that lasted the entire film.

But it was clearly a f*** up on multiple fronts. Let's hope that if there's ever a live action Korra that they've learned from these mistakes.
