It's been a while since I have watched the cartoon, but I think the second movie might be about Zukko's "journey"; and the third movie about Zukko's sister and Ang's meeting the previous AirBenders?
i think its pretentious and pompous to go by M. Night Shyamalan when his full name is Manoj Nelliyattu Shyamalan the guy is a director what his name is shouldnt make a difference, unlike a politician, his work should speak for itself. and as KingCheetah mention the guy has one great movie and several mediocre to terrible ones since. I havent seen this movie yet myself but it sounds like from the early reviews he took what was a great story by two other people and butchered it
I haven't watched it, and most likely will not after reading the review, but the movie was supposed to contain material of the 1st season, so it should end after the North Pole victory. I'm on the fence about watching it now, I spent the last few weeks rewatching the series and still am curious, or more like anxious, about how it all could look.
Anyone else certain the Shamylanan stole the 6th Sense script from a truly talented college roommate?
The user reviews are pretty bad too. I don't get why people keep referring to him as a 1 hit wonder though. Along with The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable was an awesome suspense movie with a compelling story. But yeah the rest is just awful. Actually I partly enjoyed Signs to an degree but I guess see why others would hate it. It's a shame how bad he's falling off. From one of the most promising directors to the one of the most canned, ouch. I think should have just stuck to what he was somewhat successful in, low-key thrillers/horror type films. The "Let the Right One In", American remake would've been a good project for him. Also I read a review for The Last Airbender earlier titled "Let's just be honest: Shayamlan is a moron". I feel bad for the guy, but it made me chuckle.
My son REALLY wants to go see this too. Heck, I wanted to go see it. I wasn't expecting a great film, but at least something decent. This all makes it sound unwatchable.
The Village was bearable and somewhat entertaining but everyone was expecting the twist..and they got it..and it was ridiculous.
Pretty much, everyone should just save their money for Inception since their has been nothing but positive feedback from critics who have seen early screenings.
I know right I was on that boat too with anticipation watching the series on instant netflix religiously until today the reviews just left me with a sour note.. I will probably try to sneek in for free to see how bad this film really is or maybe it is one of those bad movies that so bad it's good??
Speaking on behalf of the Asian people. we are glad we are not associated in the making of this movie.
I thought Shyamyalyhalyhanan is Asian... Indian is Asian, no? Anyways I'll probably be downloading this movie, not worth my money. I hope he directs the twilight series and ruins it. I'm tired of hearing about how awesome it is from little girls.
I keep hearing this. Which character is not supposed to be "white" in the cartoon? Looks like it was primed with whitewash. Yeah, my kid wants to see it pretty badly, but he won't care too much or notice if it's bad I don't think, as long as the characters are recognizable, and they bend elements. I was hoping it would be good enough, but I'm not as much a movie snob as some, evidently, when it comes to titles like this...so i'm holding out hope it will be bearable.
